i have been feeding my new puppy Copper a half cup of food every four hours four times a day... she is pretty much active most of the day, except of course for the naps here and there... i was wondering if it is better to feed her 1 cup in the morning and 1 more cup of food in the early evening... or is it ok to keep feeding her the way i have been... i just didn't want to feed so much food at one time... i don't want her to bust at the seams... she is still pretty small... any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

I feed 3 times a day until about 4months and then drop back to 2 times a day. I think it really is what your pup gets use to.

thanks a bunch... i have another question about this... is it not good to feed her four times a day... should i feed her less, or am i safe feeding her this many times a day

From what I have read and experienced, four times a day is ok for right now. Labs tend to chow down and eat there food so, I would watch how much I feed a these times. When I first bought my pup at 12 weeks the breeder said that she fed her once in the morning and once at night, both dry feed. I have modified this a little over the time but now that she is 6 months old I am finding that she seems very hungry in between and wonder if I should maybe give her three smaller feeds. She calms down a lot after feeding and thought that a shorter interval might make for a happier dog??

jake is almost 7 months so i just started feeding him 2 times aday.2 cups each time.when he was a pup i think i fed him 4 times a day last feeding around 10 at nite so he would sleep through the nite.dana

copper's last feeding is at 8 and she has no problem sleeping through the night, well, she wakes me up to go outside a couple of times... and when she comes in she falls right back to sleep... she usually gets pretty sleepy after eating
