The last three 20 lb. bags I have purchased have noticeably smaller kibble pieces. My dogs still eat it but I am wondering if this is just a fluke kind of thing or has Flint now changed the composition for whatever reason.

The chunky and varying sizes of the kibble is one of the reasons I started feeding my girls Flint Lamb & Rice six years ago. I've always thought they enjoyed the different sizes and shapes.

I live in Albuquerque, NM.

Happy Labor Day everyone.

What results have you had with FRR ? Is this found in stores or special order ?

I've never seen it on any shelves....

Not 100% sure, but FRR is mail order only direct from FRR...

FRR is only available by mail order from FRR company & also through breeders that only recommend this food for their dogs.

I fed FRR "Fish N Chips" formula for a while before I found TOTW Pacific Stream and it does need to be ordered from FRR directly or from one of their distributors. You can be put on auto delivery and your food will show up at your door at scheduled intervals.

My dogs really liked the FRR Fish N Chips but it did not have enough protein and fat to maintain their show coats so I switched to TOTW.

After having our first lab for nearly a year I discovered FRR here in this group. I spent some time researching what others had to say here and elsewhere and liked what I saw. We got our second lab from the same breeder a short while later and have had them on it ever since. So many store shelf dog foods have a real processed look to them and careful examination of the ingredients show that to be more than the case. I just wanted them to have the most natural and healthy food available so Flint's been the choice for the past six years.

But as I stated in initial post, the varying kibble size -- big, middle size, and small pieces -- are now almost exclusively small nuggests. My girls still eat it, of course, but I almost feel like they are getting less amount than before. I have always been very watchful over their diet so something like this is noticed by me immediately. This is by no means a health threatening issue, just a curiousity mention.

Regarding where to buy it, it is not carried by the major retailers including PetSmart or Pet Depot. You either have to order from a distributor or find a smaller dog shop or kennel or similar. We have a pet resort and training facility here in our town and they carry that and other similar high-end dog foods.

Hope this helps.
