Hello - I was looking for any and all information that people who have fostered a puppy or a dog might have. The good and the bad (if there is any)!

We have just been approved to foster with Labs4Rescue and our first foster dog comes to us on October 26.

Thank you in advance for your information and your help.

Congratulations on being a foster parent. I got us involved with fostering for NEARR here in New England. It was better for us then getting another dog...er, puppy. We adopted Gusty (8) and Jack (4) through a breeder..they came from good homes actually! They live with us full time now. Gusty was a peach and Jack had major crate aggression and suffered from lick granulomas. He is all better!

We successfully fostered an 18 month old black female and we now have a 4 yr old yellow male. There have been some challenges to it (like having three big dogs at home) but it has been rewarding. I have found that though not physically abused, they need love and care, a better diet at times and some training. I don't do much training, I try to help them adjust, eat better, play and exercise. I keep the organization updated and we work with an adoption coordinator for potential adopters. Kayleigh was only with us for 6 wks and Frosty has been 4. He goes to a new home this week. It is somewhat hard to see them go, but if the org is a good one, you will be happy with their new forever home. Feel free to send me a private message for more details!
