Up until my Dane died last August I fed my dogs nothing but grocery store crap (this was when I was nutritionally stupid!).
Got Bailey last September and began learning about GOOD nutrition for dogs. We tried most super-premiums until we settled on Timberwolf Organics.
In Kansas City, fleas have always been a huge problem. This is the first and only year I have not seen one flea on any of my dogs and while not using flea treatments, baths, dips, and/or flea collars (+ same back yard for over 25 years).
I told my wife (who thinks I'm now a dog food fanatic) that I thought the higher quality food that we are feeding them might be responsible for the lack of fleas (healthy dog + healthy coat = natural flea repellent). Yesterday, she admitted that I just might be right about the fleas - that feeding them much higher quality food might be a major reason.
Anyone else have this turnaround with past flea problems just by feeding higher quality foods?
