I'm thinking about trying this out for my 2 as so many people have such great results with it.
The vendor I get pet stuff from sells it in 2 different sizes
8oz for 13.99 and 16oz for 19.99
First off, are these prices in the ballpark?
Obviously, the 16oz is more economical, but I'm wondering how long wld the bottle last for use with 2 labs - one 100lbs, the other 60lbs?
I'm just concerned about oils going rancid. What's the shelf life on this stuff?
Wld it be ok for me to buy the 16 oz size??

The first time I bought it I got the 16oz bottle and it didn't last that long.... maybe one month... with one dog. There was another thread about this stuff that was really good, I'll have to look but I believe someone had e-mailed the company and they said 1year shelf life. Last time I went ahead and bought the 32oz size for aprox $24.00.

Here's the other thread. I think I was mistaken on the 1 year. All I can find is that the bottle is supposed to keep too much air from getting to the oil so it doesn't go rancid. Another person said that there should be an experation date on the bottle.... I've never seen one on my bottle but I will look when I go home.

I would buy the 16oz and see how your dogs do on it first. I think I paid 16.99on one of the pet internet sights. Also somewhere in the back of my mind I remember something about keeping it in hte fridge?? (maybe have another e-mail from Grizzly??)
I asked some questions to Grizzly and got this back:
Production of Grizzly Salmon Oil and general info:
Grizzly Salmon Oil is extremely well protected from going rancid by nature itself. A salmon has roughly 25% oil in its body mass and lives for several years, so it has established a complex variety of natural antioxidants to protect the oil, a.o. alfa-tocopherols also called vitamin E, when manmade and asthaxantins. Our proprietary process for producing Grizzly Salmon Oil is based on food grade salmon. It is very gentle and leaves natures balance of antioxidants in the food grade salmon oil, i.e. in the bottle. This protection is more than outstanding compared to any manmade attempt to protect the oil. We also add a little Rosemary Extract so that we are assured of a year shelf life.
Our process elevates the temperature to about 170 F for 5 - 7 mins, which is enough to release the oil, but not enough to harm the oil or the antioxidants in it. The oil is then separated from the fish mass by industrial centrifuges, cooled and sent to bottling.... the salmon oil does contain Vitamin E naturally-- but we do not add any to the oil.. We don't disturb it at all! -- the dogs like it better if it tastes like fresh fish.
Also, our bottles are designed to keep air exposure to a minimum, which also helps keeps the oil from going rancid.
Our research has shown that when using Grizzly Salmon Oil-- you don't need to add extra Vitamin E. Please let me know if you have other questions.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I'm going to order the 16 oz size.
