Bombon

Well we have noticed that Bombon hasn't been eating much. Now this dog usually eats his meal then we try to eat ours and he sits there, begs and gives us the cute puppy face, because he wants our food too.
But lately he hasn't been eating much. We put his food out and he doesn't eat, and my hubby takes it away cause he read on this web site that if they don't eat it we should take it away from him.
Well then today it was about noon and he still hadn't ate, so I hand fed him and he ate it all. But when I put the bowl in front of him so he would eat out of it on his own, he would step away from the bowl, almost like he's afraid of the bowl. Anyone have any suggestions?

Bombon has you trained well! When he begs for your food, does it work? I don't believe he is afraid of his food bowl. I think he being stubborn, refusing to eat from it. He is a smart one, though. The fact that he eats when you hand feed him indicates that the food is not the problem, rather it is the manner in which it is served! I might suggest that you feed Bombon after you eat, this reinforces your position as pack leader. With a pup like yours, this could be important. Don't worry, a healthy dog will not starve himself. Good luck.
