Hi. I am going to interview on Wed with a Recreational Coordinator for a possible volunteer opportunity with Toby. The visits would be at a group home type of environment. When a large group gets together to visit and you go from one person to the next, how do you handle the hand cleaning? The Delta society recommends that the persons being visited wash their hands before and after petting the dog. Do you like carry around wipes and say, "Ah-ah wash your hands first." Don't people find that rude? :o: Any suggestions how to handle this nicely? Would it be acceptable to have the staff ask their clients to wash before gathering for the visit and then after it as well? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
