I know so many of you have been following my story in regards to our search for a lab. Well I am so HAPPY to say that Ben #8 from labs4rescue.com in CT will be delivered to us in Hagerstown, MD (1 HR from our house) on Friday night. We are so excited. I made a whole list of dogs from labs4rescue CT petfinder.com page and emailed Lisa with our family background and all about our house. She called me in NC yesterday less than an hour after I sent my email and she said she has the perfect lab for us. He is aprox 8 months old, almost white in color, petite in size and submissive (good for my alpha cat). I sent in our application today and he has been taken off petfinder.com and reserved for us. We will have a home visit this week, which I am confident will go very well. We are going on a shopping spree at PetSmart tomorrow evening if we don't have our home visit. I just need to email Lisa and find out what the dog likes-toys, food ect... I think I am going to order him a bed from LL Bean or Orvis tomorrow. As you can tell we are sooooooo excited. My husband doesn't get excited about much and is kind of slow to show emotions (like a lot of men) but he said "don't go to PetSmart without me, we'll all go when I get home tomorrow-I want to help pick everything out". He is even trying to think of names since his name obviously needs to be changed-our son is Benjamin. I just want to thank you all for all of your help and support. I will be sure to post pics as soon as I can. I think I'll need some help with that. Not sure if this is a good thing, but as long as all goes well with the cats I don't think this will be our only dog. By no means am I rushing anything but I think it is so wonderful how many of you foster dogs until they can find their forever home. I know if I had my choice I'd rescue them all. I always tell my husband if anything ever happens to him I'll be the crazy lady with all the cats and dogs you see on the news, but only mine would be loved and cared for. Thank you all again. I certainly don't plan on leaving the board. You all are so wonderful and I know I'll need some advise and if anyone ever needs anything from me, just let me know.

Megan that is wonderful news!!! :3dance: :thewave I'm so happy for you and your family. Please do keep us updated and let us know how things go. We will be anxiously awaiting pictures of the beautiful boy. Good luck! And maybe when we see pictures we can try and help you out with a name (that is if your husband doesn't think of one first) :)

YEAH!!! I Just adore Lisa Pierce....here are some photos of Megan's soon to be new family member! Hooray for Ben! Megan, I think he's coming from TN- where Lisa lives and fosters. She knows all the dogs in the program better than anyone, so glad you were able to hook up with us to find your friend! Remember, we are always here to support you with help if you need questions answered, etc

Congrats on the new addition! I'm sure he's been waiting just as long for the right family to come along. Destiny! Best of luck and definately let us know the new new name. He's a cutie!!!

That is great news that you will soon have a rescued lab in your home. Congrats and welcome to the "lab freaks" family :) ! It is very exciting when waiting to get a new dog. Have fun shopping for toys for the new boy.
Glad you are going to stay around at this board. There is a wealth of information here.
