I just phoned the Clare County shelter in Harrison, Michigan, and spoke to a shelter employee named Maggie. I asked her which labs listed at petfinder are still available.
# 148 D 5 is still available and came in to the shelter on March 3rd.
# 161 D 5 (male named Hunter) is still available, came in March 8th.
# 162 D 5 Still there. Came in on March 11th.

# 136 D 5 was adopted this morning :)

Below is a Chocolate Lab Male ID # 162 D5. Listed at petfinder as being "aggressive towards other dogs." I mentioned this to Maggie, and she said she did not know about that, if he is aggressive towards other dogs.

I asked Maggie if I found lab rescue help, do they have a few days left or what. They euthanize dogs that don't find homes/rescue at this shelter, and she did not give me a time frame, but they are all very urgent. Maggie said that if a rescue can take them, please phone the shelter to ask for a hold to be put on them.

Thats the first thing I thought of when I saw her - there is something about her eyes!

I'll work on it...but I am limited. I have an owner surrender coming in Monday...and there is a 12 week pup in Mt. Pleasant I am still working on...not to mention Rocky...but I can and will pull for someone if they want to. Let me get back to you...seems like there was another female choco lab in there...hopefully she got adopted.

Maggie, shelter employee, said that # 136 D 5 was adopted this morning, but all the rest of the above are available as of today when I phoned.

I am keeping the little black girl on my radar... I'm working on DH.

I'm still working on these as well...may have the ability to transfer them to the SE Michigan Lab Rescue...they are looking for pups...I'll keep you updated.

Dani, I can't foster, but I can help transport to SE Lab Rescue.
