Two home made treats I make for Ella- in our quest to give her a wheat free diet and an effort to keep her weight under control.
Biscuits: I mix up 2 cups of rice flour (cream of rice will do), 1 cup of mixed veggies and fruits (grated carrots, parsnips, apple, and mashed banana, garlic, parsley), one egg, and 1 tblsp of olive oil.
I shape these into small flat discs and bake them in the oven- when one side is brown I flip them and bake till they are no longer soft.
Liver: I sprinkle garlic powder on liver and bake it on very low heat in the oven for a long time. Half way through I take it out and chop it up into very thin slices and let it finish dehydrating (easier than tring to chop raw liver into thin slices) completely. We use these as training treats.
Cheaper on the pocket and I know what is in them. As two of her favourite treats come out of the oven, Ella will come charging whenever the oven door is opened.
