I just started a book by Jodi Picoult called "My Sister's Keeper" and it is very good. I had never read anything by her before. Has anyone here read any of her other books? What do you recommend?

My Sister's Keeper was an excellent book! I read one other by her but do not remember the name. If I think of it, I'll let post it.

I think MSK was her best, but I would also recommend SECOND GLANCE and KEEPING FAITH. I also enjoyed her most recent work, TENTH CIRCLE. Enjoy!

Two friends said "The Pact" is very good. It's about two teens who made an agreement to commit suicide but only one died.

I loved MSK and picked it for my bookclub. Dumb men thought the book lacked themes and discussion topics. One topic some of the mothers brought up was how children are treated differently by their parents. Obviously, medical ethics is a HUGE topic in the story.

Enjoy the book and keep the Kleenex close at hand. Everytime I would cry, DH would ask me if the sister died yet.

I have read several of her books. Just recently finished the Tenth Circle. My favorites were Plain Truth and My Sisters Keeper. The amazing thing about her books is that it deals with an issue from all angles and leaves you with a whole new perspective. There truly are no villians or heros in her stories. I find myself questioning what I sometimes thought I believed. Great author!!!

I agree with 4dogsrule. I have only read one of her books, "The Pact", and I agree with the fact you get a new perspective on the issue.
I prefer books that leave me thinking long after i'm done reading it.

Awesome Book! My sister made me read it before she passed away in October.. My sister was an avid reader and was always making lists of books for me to read. I just never made the time. When she died, I took all of her books and I am slowly making my way through them. I have some of Jodi Picoult books in the pile.. I will let you know when I get to them. I am making my teenage daughter read the book, maybe she will start to appreciate her little sister.. :)

Oh, I just finished reading her books....and I can't remember the name of the darn thing!

It was about a Lawyer who dealt with child abuse cases then her 5 year old son was sexually assaulted. It was hard to read in places, but it really was excellent. :)

Isn't Jodi Picoult fantastic? I loved "My Sister's Keeper." I also heard that "Ninteen Minutes" is reall good as well. I read "Vanishing Acts" and it was good, but not wonderful.

I haven't read a book of hers I didn't like - they all make you think. I have actually been reading quite a few of hers recently - Harvesting the Heart, The Pact, Keeping Faith, Plain Truth.

I have a lot of her books. At the top of the list was My Sister's Keeper then probably Nineteen Minutes then maybe The Pact. Perfect Match was really hard to read (it's about a little boy that gets sexually molested). Salem Falls was pretty good, at the end I was left completely shocked. I met her in person and she signed one of my books, she looks totally different in person than on the book.

I am a huge fan of hers. If you like her you will probably like Anita Shreve too.

I had to go back and look at J. Picoult's book. I have read the following an liked them all:

My Sister's Keeper
The Pact
Plain Truth (about an Amish teen who gets pregnant and the story behind the death of the baby)
Perfect Match (child molestation and the Catholic church)
Harvesting the Heart (a girl in search of the mother she never knew)

The first Jodi Picoult book I read was The Pact and it hooked me. I just finished Nineteen Minutes. The only one I didn't like much was the one about the guy who was on trial for killing his wife who was in the last stages of breast cancer.....I forget the name. Otherwise I've loved all of her books. She has a knack of telling such heartbreaking stories and really capturing the emotions of everyone involved.
