Hi there! I am new to this forum. I don't actually own a Lab but I had one show up at my home this past Friday night. She is a Black Lab mix. She looks like she is only about 1-2 years old. She had recently had puppies as she still had some milk in her. She looked like she had a collar on but it had been removed. We opened the basement door for her and she went right in. That is where she stayed until Sunday. We knew we were unable to keep her ourselves, (we have a dog, a cat, an 11 month old child and another one on the way)and we had been unsuccessful at finding an owner or someone that could take her so we called Roanoke County Animal Control
to come get her. We live out in the country and people just drop dogs off all the time thinking they'll find a good home. I think this is what happened
to her. It makes me so angry and upset words cannot express. I have spoken with a lady here in Christiansburg that does Lab Rescue. She has said that if I can find a foster home for her, she will take care of the spaying and vet visit and anything else that may be needed. She is unable to take her in right now because she has a litter of Lab Puppies of her own. I am hoping maybe someone on here can help me get her out of there. Maybe another rescue???? I am having a lot of trouble finding someone willing to foster her. I have called the shelter and found out that she will be available on September 27. The lady said they are only held for 5 days without a collar. I will help in any way that I can to get her out of there and transport as well so she is not put down.
