Please vote for the date that works best for your schedule:

1. Saturday, September 18th
2. Saturday, September 25th
3. Saturday, October 2nd
4. Saturday, October 9th

ZenCat

Sarah, I hesitate to vote on this at the moment because I can make any/all of those dates (except perhaps the august one with Mr. Tenderfoot). I'll let those with harder schedules work out the date.

Sarah
08-04-2004, 08:02 AM
Yeah I can't do August either. Mia's surgury is August 27th, so I was hoping people would want September!

JenQuinn
08-04-2004, 08:13 AM
Either of the two later Sept ones would work better for me. Back to school at Staples can be quite crazy and I may have to work both those weekends. Plus Animal Planet is having an expo kinda thing at Goddard Park on the 28/29 that I think I want to check out.

Jen, pick a date, we can all compromise to the winning number of votes I think. Anything after August is best for me. I'm flexible after Mia's surgury.

Toby is tentatively scheduled to be neutered September 9th..so the 11th and prob the 18th would be out for us (unless the date changes.)

HeatherA

The two later dates in Sept would be best for me, although the aug 29 would also work. Sept 4th is Not good for me. In-laws will be visiting and I cannot blow them off for another labfest. Boy do I wish I could, but I can't

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not pick Sept. 18. This is my granddaughter's 2nd birthday and we will have a house full of people. ANY of the other days is perfect.

I looked at the results of the poll and the 18th is in the running!

I need to make this Labrapalooza!!!!

Thanks!

Sarah

I can always ask one of the mods to change the poll for the even later dates in September, and even early October. So far that sounds like what would be best for people? Everyone cool with that?

Sarah
08-04-2004, 06:48 PM
I just PM'd John and Jeannie (Calley's Fam) to ask for the dates to change, if they can, to:

Sept. 18
Sept. 25
Oct. 2
Oct. 9

Better?

HunterBoozer
08-04-2004, 07:06 PM
The last 3 dates are perfect. We will probably be on vaction either the 2nd or 9th of October, but we don't go too far and could still make it (we usually go to the Cape or something for our anniversary which is the 4th of Oct). Cool - thanks. I bet with the cooler weather the furkids will have much more fun too!

October 2cd is out for us...I'll be working from 9 to 9. Other dates (except for Sept 18th) seem good.

Sarah
08-04-2004, 08:20 PM
Thanks John and Jeannie for fixing the poll! Ok people, vote away. Let's see what works best! (please vote, this is my first poll and I think it's so cool!)

Hi - I put my vote in yesterday!!

Sarah
08-07-2004, 11:01 PM
So far we've got 2 votes for 9/25 and 2 votes for 10/9. Any of the dates (except for August) work over here. Just trying to be accomodating to everyone else. Anyone really really want to come, but have some major conflict on one of these dates? It may help to narrow it down some!

JP

I wont have my schedule until the end of the month when school meetings start back up. So i will just have to wait and see if it works out!

ZenCat
08-09-2004, 06:57 AM
I'm still good to go when everyone else is!

Sarah
08-09-2004, 07:13 AM
Ok well how does October 9th sound for everyone?

It's a holiday weekend, doesn't conflict (?) with Heather's baby shower, Julie will have her teaching schedule all set by then, Kathy's vacation sounds pretty flexible, Christy isn't working 9-9 that day...

October 9th everyone?

JenQuinn
08-09-2004, 09:09 AM
I'm in for Oct 9th.

malweth
08-09-2004, 11:05 AM
October 9th sounds good to me. Toby will be all healed, I won't be working and we don't leave until the 22cd for our cruise.

Wooo Hoooo. I've penciled this on my calendar already. Can't wait!!!

Sarah

Ok I'm going to PM Smitty, ZenCat, JP, BlackOlive, and a few others to see if Oct. 9th is cool with them also!

Looks like we are on, ladies! :D

Can someone tell me where to find Southbury Dog Park in Connecticut? I'm trying to see how far it would be from here in NS. in Mapquest and they want an intersection or address.

Sarah
08-10-2004, 04:51 PM
Christi, ZenCat would be the best to give you that info I think. Her and HeatherA went there recently. If you want to mapquest from your place to Attleboro, MA (02703) where I'm from, and then mapquest from Attleboro to Southbury, CT that will maybe give you an idea.

Sarah
08-11-2004, 06:46 AM
Haven't heard from anyone in a while....what's going on!? :(

Averysmom
08-11-2004, 06:50 AM
I just put from Halifax to Southbury, CT and it's a 15 1/2 hour drive, 835 miles. I'd love to go to meet all you guys!! I don't know, I'll have to think about it and ask the dh what he thinks. Avery doesn't like the car and I don't know if it would be worth it to make him drive all that way...hmmm.

Sarah
08-11-2004, 06:59 AM
Christi, what about taking "The Cat" Ferry from Halifax to Bar Harbor? It's *only* about 6 1/2 hours from there. You could always stay in Boston over night. It's about half way and it's a holiday weekend :D

Averysmom
08-11-2004, 07:40 AM
I wonder what they do about pets on the Cat? I wouldn't want him to have to stay down in the car. :(

Sarah - I think Smitty is on vacation this week, probably why you haven't heard from her. Not to wish the summer away, but boy, I wish October was closer!! :)

Sarah
08-11-2004, 09:52 AM
Christi I hope you can come! I have a book that lists all the dog friendly hotels in the Boston area, if you want some help!

Kathy, I'm glad you're as excited as I am! I can't wait to meet your two and give them both smooches :)

JP

Sarah... I tried to PM you but your box is full... Soooo POPULAR! :D

I have to work weekends at school, but our schedule is not set until our first "Back to School" Meetings Sept 1st. SO i wont know until then what weekends I am "on". So I will have to get back to you then. So plan away and I will just cross my fingers!!!

Sarah
08-11-2004, 07:55 PM
Keeping my fingers crossed over here, Jules! Hope you can make it...with your carrot cake ;) :D

Sorry Homies, I kind of dropped out of this for a little while till the dates got settled (since I wasn't going to miss it no matter WHAT date ended up working for everyone) and here I see Christi is considering joining us! Oh Please! O Please Come!!! I know it's a long trip but we'd so love to meet you and Avery.

Looks like we're going to have another good hearty turnout again. Can't wait to meet you, KathyHunter&Boozer! And I'll bet we can get 3labs to come with his crew. Will cross fingers that Julie can wrangle her schedule & Olive and Co. can make it again, though by the looks of things outside perhaps she should have gotten a new motorboat instead of a new car :(

Wasn't the new Jenn from Norwalk? Which is about a half an hour from me.

Anyway, I'm off tomorrow for a week with NO INTERNET CONNECTION! But Sarah is coming to visit to keep me from going into total Lab Board Withdrawal Catatonia. Such an angel

I was talking to the dh and he said that it would be really nice to go however, we're buying the new place and we still haven't sold our place so we have 2 mortgages to pay. He said if we sell our place between now and the Labrapalooza, we should be able to go. So everyone cross their fingers, say prayers, send good vibes......

I'm so very disappointed that as of now, we won't be able to make it, but it's still almost 2 months away, so anything could happen. I've not lost all hope. :)

How far away is this place from Danbury? According to Mapqust it is off of Rt84, about a half hour from Danbury. Is that correct? If so that is only about an hour away from me, so it would be a possibility.

HeatherA
08-14-2004, 05:19 PM
Yes, it is a 30 minute drive from Danbury. I have actually clocked it. Hope you can make it. - I hope I can make it. I still need to find out the date for the shower.

Labrapalooza 2 is October 9th at Southbury Dog Park in Southbury, Connecticut.

Well - it looks like Oct 9th will be the date of my shower. My DH just sid that is between the 9th and the twentysomethingth.... but all parties involved were leaning toward the 9th. Can you believe it. The fest is in my backyard and I can't go. Well I guess next summer, right.

Hey Heather, don't make us come crash the shower with all the furkids in tow so we can drag you out of there! :D We'll think of you in spirit...perhaps your furkid can come somehow?!

Don't know where Southbury is - probably too far for us - NJ here. I'll check.

Sierra would freak out being around so many dogs all at once. LOL.

Hitch - where in Jersey are you? It only take us about 2-2.5 hours to get to central Jersey from here - I live in the town next to Southbury. When I say central Jersey I mean Bridgewater area.

Hitch

We are North Jersey. I checked mapquest - it's 1 hr 50 mins. Think we'll go. Looks like a lot of fun.

I can't come :( :( :(

I was trying very hard to justify not going to my mother's wedding (she's marrying the biggest jerk on earth) and we (me and my mom) had some issues but I have to do the right thing and go, even though I desperately don't want to. It's the same day as the Labrapalooza. I am definitely coming to the next one, as long as we've sold the house of course. :D

I have a Rugby game in Danbury that day, it starts at 1:00. Do you think people will still be there at 3:00 in the afternoon? If so I will be a definite. I know it won't be much time to spend, but at least it will be a nice meet & greet. Or better yet, if you think we will meet in the morning I can see everyone then before noon? Nala would love to meet some new labby friends. We will just have to wait until it get closer to see when everyone will want to meet. Oh yea, maybe some would want to watch our game?

You know - we are such true Rhode Islander's! Here we are trying to meet at a place approx. 2 hours away, when we only live maybe 15 minutes away! Too funny. We should get the RI'er's together at City Park in Warwick (JennQuinn walks her baby there and there's also water). That way, we could also start our own mini-labfest. But, also knowing RI'er's, we will wait until the full-blown Labrapalooza! :D

Anytime anyone wants to meet at City Park, let me know. We can't bring the furbabies on the beach until after 6pm- but there's also a little league feild that's all fenced in- and if no one's labs are the take off to the hills type, plenty of open grassy areas. Although, I can check the beach after labor day. One the lifeguards are gone, they can't kick us out.

Let me know when the Mini-palooza might happen, I usually have a pretty free schedule, and Mickey adores get-togethers.
