CONTACTS: http://acadiana. petfinder. com (https://jcwebmail.jcaho.org/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://acadiana.petfinder.com/) ; roicyvolunteers@ gmail.com (roicyvolunteers@gmail.com) ; www.1-800-save- a-pet.com/ (zip code 70507)

Please Note, these animals have 1 day, Tuesday, December 26, to find their forever homes/rescues or could be PTS (if not held over) as Roicy is CLOSED, Monday, December 25th.

The cats were all HELD OVER and there was one cat adoption and one rescue. Luckily stray hold has not had many cats so it has made room to give these cats more time. Please consider the first two cats listed as they have been HELD OVER the longest. The sweet Tuxedo cat 'White Boots' looks like he has a birth mark on his face. I LOVE the HUGE black and white cat 'Friendly Boy' as he has a wonderful face and absolutely loves people and to be held. The 12 week old 'Fluff Ball' is scared to death. How sad that a kitten ends up without her momma and alone for the holidays. An exotic mix of Tabby and Turkish Van with big soulful green eyes is also still looking for his furever home. The new Orange Tabby and brown Tabbys are also very nice cats and seem very scared.

All the dogs were HELD OVER as well. We had a wonderful rescue this past week of a Beagle Basset returned for being HW+ then with donations, a rescue took her in. There is yet ANOTHER dog returned for being HW+ as well. The poor male Chocolate Lab was all set to be a part of a new family and his new owners didn't care enough to get him treated and returned him. A super sweet baby Black Lab has been held over several times and I just can't understand why someone hasn't snatched up this cute little girl. Two additional hold overs that desperately need homes are a Black Lab mix 'Boots.' Yellow Lab mix 'playful' and small 20 lb Terrier mix. Another sad story... a baby Rat Terrier (approx 8 weeks old) was surrendered because owners other dog "didn't like her." New dogs include a good ole girl Yellow Lab with some weight and years, another Yellow Lab with a very soulful and sweet face, 2 Doxie mixes, and a Blue Tic Beagle mix.

Please consider these animals through by no fault of their own have ended up at Roicy due to neglect, sad circumstances, or lack of caring.
Be the true holiday miracles these animals need to get that second chance and to help them to get to their forever homes.

Gosh, I wish we could help. We still have two down there waiting to move north. Do you know the level of the heartworm? We are treating on with mild and one with moderate HW now.

Amy:

Thanks for ALL you've done to help the poor Labs at Roicy.

I don't know anything about the level of the heartworm for the
CHOC. LAB, but you should call Jennifer or one of the other volunteers at Roicy and ask.

Hope you are able to get the other two Labs safely to you.

Happy Holidays.

I emailed about the choco boy with heartworm that was returned because the adopters did not want to treat him. Received reply from Jennifer that he was re-adopted by caring people who are willing to treat him for his heartworm. So he is safe!
