Where is everyone these days? I had my weigh in last night and I lost .6. I was expecting more for all of the exercise that I did. I have exercised for a hour everyday for the last two weeks, but I am happy that it was a loss. How is everyone else doing? Anyone else lose this week?

This place seems to have slowed down lately I hope that is because everyone is busy eating healthy and exercising :D I have been trying to change things up a little and add different exercises and recipes. I change up my exercise so that I do not get bored with one thing, some of the things I really enjoy are racquetball, skating, swimming, aqua fit, walking, treadmill, exercise video and my dance video. Some of the new things I have done is adding ankle and wrist weights while on my treadmill or doing my video, I balance on my exercise ball and lift weights or use a resistance band (there are lot of great exercises that you can do with a ball) and I have started using a skipping rope it really gets the heart rate up. Find something that you like and do what works for you. Another thing I found that works for me is planning my meals ahead of time. Because my weigh in is on Wednesday's my week goes from Wednesday to Wednesday and I eat out (something healthy) every night after weighting in. So today I will sit down and make a meal plan to get me until till Tuesday and then go out and get everything that I need so I have no excuse not to make something and I am not running to the store everyday. I also like to try at least one new recipe each week.

I'm convinced that there is no "correct" way to diet or achieve long term weight loss. It's a case of "different strokes for different folks". So if you are comfortable with a low carb plan, that's fine. Or if you prefer a more balanced eating plan, that's fine too. As long as you eat healthy foods and get physically active, the extra weight is gonna disappear!

I read something today that really hit home.

10 grams of carbohydrates in the form of squishy white bread will actually contribute more calories than 10 grams of carbohydrates in the form of fiber-enriched whole-grain bread because of the indigestibility of the fiber.

All the more reason to eat whole foods instead of processed foods!!

Hi Girls, I am still here. Got my workout the last two days by shoveling snow. Lots and lots of snow. I think I bruised the palm of my hand from lifting the shovel so many times. It hurts!

Jennifer, I also enjoy walking on my treadmill and working out on the balance ball with weights. I need to buy a couple more balance ball videos, I am getting bored with the one I have plus it is good to mix things up and not do the same routine over and over.

I haven't gotten on the scale this week but notice I am having trouble keeping my jeans from sliding down, will I need a smaller size soon?!?!? Lets hope so.

I am tired from shoveling! I had the driveway, mailbox area and sidewalks cleared yesterday but the wind blew the snow back over the walk to the bus stop so I had to get that cleared again so we don't have to walk though snow again tomorrow.

Congrats Jen!! .6 that is a loss...which is the way we want to be going!!

Thanks for the inspiration, it's good to hear, I like to hear others are still struggling (and succeeding) with me, I'd hate to be doing this all by myself!!! :D :D :D

Cindy shoveling snow is a great way to exercise whether we like it or not. Scales are only one way of measuring our successes. The way our clothes look and feel is another great way, even if the scales stay the same. Building muscle and toning is always good. :D
