Good Morning Everyone!! It's Friday!!! :D :D :D
Here's a little tid bit I found about apples....my newest choice for a healthy snack!! :)
Fill up on apples
Many studies have found that increased fruit consumption is linked with lower weight. Studies show that people are most successful at limiting calories when they include foods that contain relatively few calories in relation to their portions. Apples are high in a type of fiber that creates a “full” sensation. The calories from one medium apple are about equal to one-and-a-half Oreo cookies and are far more filling. (It’s important to remember that for overall health, a variety of fruit is a smarter move than sticking with multiple daily servings of apples or any fruit.)
Lets keep going everyone.....there have been some GREAT losses recently, and even if you haven't had a loss, keep going, you WILL!!!! We can do this!!! :) :)

Morning Losers. :) Its 5:42am, just sitting here watching the puppers eat his breakfast while I enjoy my Rice Krispies while the coffee brews. :)
Any fun plans for the weekend?

It was bitterly cold the last two mornings so Angus and I didn't go for our morning walk. To make up for it today I got up 1/2 hour earlier than normal and we did a 6km walk before breakfast. Angus is currently under my desk here at work snoring, I guess he enjoyed the extra exercise. I am hoping to get to the gym tonight if the weather holds.
This weekend I am re-certing my first aid certificate and hopefully heading for a long long hike on Sunday. Anyone else?
Almost forgot I am down .6lbs this week. Not what I was hoping for but its better than nothing :D
Vetstu .6 lbs is losing - so great work. Ronda, thanks for the tips on apples - they are the best choice for me (granny smith) as they are so portable and you can just bite into them.
I hope to be going to the gym tonight if not I will be going this weekend :D

Congratulations to everyone on their success so far.
I have not been feeling very well this week and have a bad chest cold, so with that, not much working out.
Last night I did go to our new facility and had an orientation on all the new fitness equipment. Mind you I only did a few of every excersice, I did do something. I then played 5 games of volleyball.
I will be working at the new facility this afternoon and am hoping that I will be able to sneak a work out in.
I have increased the amount of fruit that I have been eating and also my water intake. I think sometimes my problem is that I don't eat enought.
I plan on weighing myself for the first time this coming Monday and with all that great new stuff to work out on, I am actually looking forward to being able to use it all the time!

Morning all. Congrats, Vetsu!
So I have to go to a party on Sunday and I need to make either an appetizer or dessert. Any low fat suggestions? Besides a veggie tray? Any recipes? The crowd is a bunch of 28 year old women and their moms (my high school friends and our moms have been doing this for 10 years :D)

I make a really easy cheesecake with fat free cream cheese and dream whip (made with skim milk). Then make a fruit topping with frozen blueberries, water and a tsp of sugar. Its semi low fat.
Graham cracker base
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup law fat margarine or butter
3 pkgs low fat cream cheese, creamed
2 pkgs dream whip made with skim milk
Mix dream whip and cream cheese
Add sugar to taste (I usually add no more than 1/4 cup but its up to you
For the topping I put a bunch of fruit in the blender and add enough water to allow it to blend - heat the topping just a touch before serving
Sorry its not a more precise recipe I am the type of person who just throws stuff in and hopes for the best. I know its not exactly "healthy" but given the fat content of most deserts its not too bad.
An appetizer I make is a base of fat free cream cheese, then a layer of fat free sour cream then a layer of salsa then a sprikling of skim cheddar cheese on top. You can serve it with nacho chips or crackers or nan bread cut up small.
I know I have more recipes than these but they are the only 2 coming to mind right now, I will keep thinking about it tho.
Chocolate dipped strawberries or apples or just a fruit spread with some chocolate to dip for the sweet tooth. I have to look through some of my books - are you doing weight watchers or something? I have a few annual recipes from Weight Watchers that I can look through tonight and let you know.

I think all my hard work (30 minute Nordic Track workouts daily) is starting to show off. I seem to be down 2 pounds, but I'm not calling it a success unless they STAY off until Monday!
WTG to everyone that is losing!
