Bruno was a very handsome Lab. Very sweet-looking too.

What a beautiful tribute! We think of him every time we make his recipe, "Bruno's Famous Liver Brownies." We shared his story and his recipe at the Colorado Lab Fest 2004 with all the attendees.

Thanks so much Sasha's Mom and Calley's Family. Bruno was very special to me. There are still lots of times when I think about him and have a good cry. Luckily, I have Kendal and Zaida now to keep me company and build more memories with. Bruno will always have a place in my heart.

Kleb,
I know words can not help. Only time will heal the hurt. The nice thing is the memories will always be there. I too lost a best friend, her name was Baby. She was a mutt and was 15 when she lost her battle to pneumonia. I think of her from time to time and it brings a tear to my eye. God gave us Shadow a lovable, labra-dorable black lab that has just melted my soul and has become my new bestest friend. I am glad that you have your other labs to help you. Bruno will meet you at the bridge with your slippers, a wet nose and a big lab kiss to greet you.

I know what it's like to lose a best friend.
Here's a little something I did for Ashley after she died. It's a heartwarming to look at every day. I just wanted to show it to you in case you might want to do something similar. I hang above where she used to sleep.

It's a picture of the shadow box I made for her after she died.

It contains: Her collar with her tag, her FAVORITE toy the water Kong. an 8x10 B&W photo I took of her at the lake playing with her Water Kong. A bottle I found at a local shop called "A message in a bottle" You can write out a message and roll it up inside. The bottle also contains a clipping of her fur I took the night she died. The writing on the photo is from an old Queen song. We had Ashley less than a year so I immediately thought of the song after she died.

The lyrics are;

****
" Just one year of love.
is better than a lifetime alone.
One sentimental moment in my arms.
Is like a shooting star right through my heart.

It's always a rainy day without you."

****

Ironicially it DID rain for a week after she died.

I hope I can see everything in the picture.
If you’d like to see the full size photo just let me know.

Truee that is a beautiful idea, it's bringing tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
Edpall, I know Bruno is waiting for me with his Kong and that goofy grin he would get when he wanted to play.

I'm glad you like it. I finally figured out how to post a larger picture on here.

Here's a slightly larger version of it. Forgive the weird angle it's on. Trying to prevent a flash burn on the picture.
I'm sure Bruno * is * waiting for you.
Take care.

Kleb: That is beautiful....he is very handsome!!

Truee: My uncle did the same thing when he loss his lab to cancer. He collected a few special things and put it in a box frame to hang over his bed.

Kleb, I have not gone to this part of the site because I thought it would be too heartbreaking.

I am crying as I write this (I should not have looked) Your link to Bruno was absolutely beautiful. He was a very handsome guy.

Okay, never coming back here again.
