View Full Version : Liver Brownies....yum!!
This was one of Bruno's favourite treats. He would have been 9 years old on November 22 and this was something I planned on making for him to celebrate.
They are kinda messy to make especially the Food processor part but, Bruno certainly thought they were worth it. Funny, no one wants to eat brownies when I make them, can't figure out why.

Calley's Family 11-19-2003, 08:43 PM Sorry to hear about your Bruno. Bruno is an awesome name.
We are going to try this recipe this weekend. Sounds yummy!
I hope the brownies turned out okay. Not too messy to make, I hope. I didn't consider any other names, a friend asked me what the name would be and I just said Bruno. It certainly suited him. He was a big, solid chocolate lab with a bit of an attitude with strangers but a big goofy personality with friends and family. I really miss his slobbery kisses.
Labradornut 12-01-2003, 10:31 AM Hey Calley's Family,

Not yet - going to print it (again) and try 'em!!!
Yes, I like the name "Bruno's Famous Liver Brownies". I just got a new friend yesterday, his name is Kendal and yes, I made him the liver brownies as a welcome treat. He loves them!!!
Labradornut 12-10-2003, 08:45 AM So tell us more about your new friend, Kendal!
Labradornut 12-12-2003, 09:53 PM I MADE THEM AND THEY LOVE THEM
While they were in the oven baking, Harley walks through the kitchen with his nose up in the air smelling. I wish I had the camera handy, but it was in the other room. It was so cute.
It made a lot, so I had to freeze some.
We will need to try. In early November we had a 1 yr old birthday party for Carmela (Fem Yellow) with 7 dogs (6 labs and lab/mix) and the "B-D cake" was a liver pie my wife made. We served in different parts of the yard for each dog. If any wants the recipe I will find it.
Take care all. We will have 3 pups visting for a day or so this w/e. We help a relative that breeds a few labs with a delivery to some families here.
I would love the recipe for Liver Pie, if you can find it. I'd like to have a birhtday party for Kendal. Think it would be fun. My sister-in-law had one for her dog and it was great. Think it was as much a party for the people as for Ripley.
Calley's Family 12-15-2003, 09:13 PM We fixed these for Calley's 1st birthday party and they LOVED them! Sebastian highly recommends them too!

So glad your guys liked the liver brownies. Between Kendal and my kitten, Zaida I'm having trouble keeping them on hand. I'm almost out and will need to make another batch in the next day or two.
Calley's Family 01-28-2004, 10:12 PM Bump!
Calley's Family 03-02-2005, 06:24 PM We have modified this great recipe of Kleb's to make it wheat and corn free because Midnight and Calley are sensitive to those ingredients. The brownies actually turn out spongier and our dogs love them!
