Liver Dog Treats
1 pound raw liver (any kind) blended into a paste
1 egg
1cup flour
1/2 cup corn meal (or flour)
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix well and bake at 350 for 1/2 hour for chewy treats, longer for crisper treats.

I made these for Hogan last night and he just LOVES them. I baked this in a 9 X 13 pan ao they came out like flat brownies. I just cut them up into cubes and use them as training treats. Also, I used all flour instead of corn meal and added some flax meal.

Hogan has a play group we meet with every morning. I brought a bag of the treats out to the park and all of the dogs were glued to me. Needless to say, it's a big hit!

Thank you Luther, but I am far from being a chef, I just love to play around in the kitchen and see what kinds of treats I can come up with. :)

Well, I dont know how everyone else does it, but I just put it in the blender and turn it on high for a couple of seconds. Thats all I do. It works great with the recipe.

I'm going to make these for my wee girl tomorrow night and I have a few questions, as I'm a bit hopeless when it comes to matters in the kitchen!

1. How do I store them after I've baked them, i.e. air tight container in the fridge?
2. How long will they keep for?

Thank you. :)

Store in airtight container in the fridge, as for the other question, they last about a week at my house.

Hi Jill's Mom, I tried baking them yesterday but they are not crispy. It turns to be softy inside. I can't imagine how the treats will look after 30 mins. baking. If you can have some pics, and share with me, it would be wonderful! It's my first baking so it's a little difficult for me.
