View Full Version : LivinLabs' Pregnant BF
LivinLabs 12-29-2006, 01:34 PM Well... vet confirmed, this beautiful, approx. 10 month old baby is in fact pregnant and too far along to abort. :(
45lbs of pure love, Katie is so affectionate and gentle. Right now she is sick so she should perk up some after the meds start kicking in. I'm looking for a more appropriate rescue for her to whelp her pups, but if I can't find one... you all better stay logged on 24/7 cuz I have no idea what i'm doing!!:o:

Upper respiratory, also known as Kennel Cough. Nothing a 10 regiment of Sulfa cant handle!
LivinLabs 12-29-2006, 01:56 PM I just realized... I now have a "wildchild" (Charlie), a "fatboy" (Tiny) and a pregnant teenager (Katie)... this can't be good...
Happy New Year to ME.

Jetsmom 12-29-2006, 03:32 PM A baby about to have babies :( Good luck hon I don't have any suggestions on rescues but we'll be hoping for the best!
ttitus1957 12-29-2006, 03:53 PM Awhhhh...she sure looks like a cutie. Thank you for taking her in so she doesn't have to be cooped up and alone while having her babies. I have no idea about having puppies other than what I have seen on Animal Planet... but if you need to scream, cry, etc., I am a good listener. LOL
Patty/Breeder 12-29-2006, 08:24 PM Oh Boy!
I would suggest if you haven't already done so that you take her to the vet for full blood work just to be sure all is well.
I would also suggest asking the vet to come out to the car to draw the blood as you don't want her in the vets office pregnant. First 4 weeks are the most life threatening for the pups.
God bless you for taking her in and dealing with her whelping.
Also, as exciting as it will all seem don't let everyone and his uncle into the house to see the new born babies. Parvo, etc. pups are very suceptible (sp).
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. You have a lot to do to prepare for these babies if you've never done this and I will help in any way I can. Feeding the bitch properly is all important starting at 5 weeks of pregnancy thru nursing.
don't panic, you're an animal lover. you can handle this!
I am sincere in my offer to help. PM me if you want and I will give you my phone number.

Aww.
I really wish we could help, but I know nothing about pregnancy/whelping. :(
Please do keep us posted though!
