We rescued our choc lab from a Lab Rescue....he was found as a stray.....he's approx 1 yr old and is a wonderful boy....he has some minor issues but we are getting over them quite well....he's getting lots of love......we think he was being used for hunting purposes because he was never in a home before....Logan is our love and what a sweet dog.

Congratulations. Rescues are wonderful. My last 2 dogs come from a Maryland Rescue.

Hunter also came from a shelter. He was so cute, everyone wanted to take him gome. But I got him first! :brow:

Thanks for rescuing a lab. There are so many out there, and I can't figure it out, because they are the sweetest, most fun dogs you can have. Our 2nd lab, also a chocolate, we rescued about 3 months ago. He was 11 months at the time. His owner moved and left him at the house in a nice outdoor kennel, then called the humane society and told them he was giving him up. We just happened to stumble upon him. I think he was being trained for hunting only as well. He didn't know what to do in the house, but it didn't take him long to learn to enjoy the house and having a family to care about him. He has a lot of learning to do (he just turned 1), but he's coming along nicely and is totally in love with our 4 year old yellow lab.

Congratulations to both you and Logan! We adopted our Sasha through Golden Gate Lab Rescue a year ago. Sasha was a stray from the Stockton Pound. She had a few issues, but we worked through them together. She is my baby, and I'm crazy about her.

Well, it sounds like Logan has found his true home with you!

I like the way you said he has minor issues but getting over them quite well. I think all dogs have minor issues - getting over them is part of what brings dogs & owners closer. :2cents:

Keno's Mom

Keno was indirectly adopted from a Rescus group in our area. We got her from a man with ad about puppies. He originally got her from the rescue group (they found her on the streets in heat).

She wound up having 10 pups with the man (who kept her outside almost all the time in a little pen and who abused her in yelling at her and possibly hitting her to make her stop barking).

She was scared of coming in the house, but has adjusted quite quickly to things. She still shys away sometimes when you go to pet her and she cringes if you raise your voice (but she does listen).

She loves and adopted our 2 youngest kittens (3 months old). She likes all the cats but thinks the kittens are her "babies".
