Hi all,
I had shared this recipe in the past, but had to dig to find it again (I was just borrowing the recipe book). So here it is again.
The great things about this recipe are that it's low fat, low cal, the dogs love it, it's exceedingly easy to make, and it's cheap!
Low Fat Dog Treats
3 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Low Fat Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1/4 cup Skim Milk
1 cup Beef Broth
1 Tbsp Butter or Margarine, softened (I used butter)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour and cheese in a large bowl. Slowly add milk, beef broth and butter. Stir until completely mixed. On a lightly floured surface, knead until firm. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness, stamp out cookies, place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, allow to cool. Makes approx. 2 dozen cookies (depending on the size of your cookie cutter).
