katrn4 10-22-2006, 01:55 PM This is such a hard thing to write, but I will try even though I can barely see the keyboard through my tears.
I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put Maggie to sleep today. She stayed overnight at the vets, and her condition continued to decline....so the vet called me this morning to come and see Maggie. The poor girl was so weak she could barely lift her head to see me. I knew in my heart that letting her go was for the best, but I think it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I will miss her so much.
I want to thank everyone for keeping Maggie in their prayers...it really meant so much to me.

Your last act of love for her was one of compassion and caring. She lived a long and wonderul life because of you and your family. Please take comfort in knowing that she is now free of all pain and suffering and is happily running through the green, green fields over the rainbow bridge. One day you will see her again, that I am sure of.
Time does ease the pain a little, but the wonderful memories you shared with her, will last a lifetime.

Even though I cried my eyes out reading the posts, they were also a great source of comfort to me. I, along with my family and friends will miss Maggie dearly...she was such a sweet dog to everyone she met.
