quick question everyone

is there some sorta guideline on how many lb of good mixture of raw meat, bones, fat and skin to feed a day?

my dog is one year old highly active (but sleeps A LOT) 51 lb. lab.

I took this from Dr. Billinghurst's site:

Feed normal active dogs 2% of their body weight per day. For example, a 50 pound dog may do very well on one pound of food per day, a 100 pound dog, 2 pounds of food per day. A highly active dog may require 3% of their body weight per day. In the case of a 50 pound dog, they would then require about one and a half pounds of food per day, a 100 pound dog, 3 pounds per day.

If any other raw feeders here have alternate advice, please chime in!

but does this advice apply when having bones in their diet?

what is a good ratio between the bones and meat?

thanks

taegello, I would recommend you get a raw feeding book. I found Kymythy Schultze's Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats extremely helpful in knowing how much and what kinds of foods to feed on a raw diet.
