is there any way to use cookies to retain the info that gets lost when using the back button? I just wrote this long, heart-wrenching post in answer to the "puppy's first day home" thread. I attached a file that alas was too large. When I hit the back button my text was gome. I don't have it in me to write all that again.
Argh!
Burtman, I know all too well what a pain in the a** this kind of thing can be, but if you can swing it...

Because I've posted thousands of posts on multiple forums, this has happened to me many times.

I've learned that, if I'm writing a "marathon post" (i.e. more than a paragraph or so), I do a quick "ctrl-a" (to select all the text) and then a "ctrl-c" (to copy it to the windows "clipboard") before hitting "submit".

This provides me with a backup plan in case I lose the original post for whatever reason.

That's pretty much what I do, highlite everything and copy so I can paste if it goes wrong.

Not sure what the isssue is but it happens on every board that I have posted on.

I use my email window if I'm going to write alot (like I'm creating a new mail message) ... write it all up, then copy it here. That way if I lose it here, I still have the email window open. It's just a habit of mine, because I've lost so much stuff, not here, but other places.
