Chesney seems to love them. I don't intentionally give them to him, mind you, but the kids are known to share theirs thinking they are doing a great thing because they taste good are are healthy (for humans anyway...)

Is this a bad thing? Or is the occassional apple okay for a pup? :confused:

Apples are fine, and many give as a snack. But the apple seeds are toxic.

However, it takes quite a few to be toxic, so although you don't want to give a whole apple or apple seeds, it is not urgent if it happens once.

I give Hunter pieces of apple at times.

My two love apples :) I like to mush them and stuff them in their kongs!

Toby LOVES sliced apples...but never the core with the seeds.

All mine love Apples. I always cut them up into pieces.

cooper eats whole apples as some of the dog parks have apple trees when the apples fall offs. just about all the dogs ignore them except cooper who see this as a smorgasbord :) There has never been any problem. Just this past weekend, we had to leave the park as he must have had about a half dozen or more apples on the ground. If we had stayed, he just would have eaten more. There is no stopping him if they are on the ground unless he is on the leash than what is the point of going to an offleash park, so we left.

at home, i just give him slices. He LOVES apples

My husband shares apples with Halligan several times a week. He loves them.

My two get apple pieces and applesauce in their frozen kongs every day!!

Apples are a great source of vit A and C for dogs, and yes, no core or seeds, and some dogs have trouble digesting the peel.

We peel the apples for our dogs and cut them up into their bowls...spoiled or what :D.
