I read somewhere on this site a couple of weeks ago that milk was not good for our dogs. I always fed my orthers dogs milk in their food only in awhile also some times with a raw egg. I am confused is milk not good? They alway loved it and never got sick from it. Just asking because I am picking up my ch 7 week old male lab pup this Friday. Thank You in advance for your coments.

Dogs are generally lactose-intolerant.
Like people, different dogs react differently to different foods. For example, my husband had a golden retriever that loved chocolate chip cookies and never had a problem with them. I would not let him feed them to our Java girl, though, because we know that chocolate, and sugar in general, is bad for dogs.
As for dairy, it is okay to give plain yogurt and cottage cheese, and soft-boiled eggs are very nutritious. I feed Java a natural diet, so these things are staples. I give her a whole raw egg in her bowl about once a week, so she can crack it herself. :) She gets plain yogurt almost every morning and the cottage cheese added sometimes, too.
Here's a link to a site with good info. about different whole foods that are good for dogs...
