Trying to find out how much a 8 month old lab should be eating. At 7 months he weighed 84lbs. He is not fat however.

Unfortunately, there is no hard answer for this. Sounds like you've got yourself a large puppy. The best measure is by looking and feeling - you don't want to see the ribs but you should be able to feel them easily; if you look down onto the top of the puppy while it's standing you should be able to see a slight narrowing where its waist is; from a sideways standing view can you see a tuck up going from front to back?

If you're feeding kibble, the amount will vary depending on its caloric values. Increasing or decreasing the amount by 1/4 cup a day can start making a difference. An 8 month old puppy is going to need more calories than a 1 yr old dog and labs usually always act like they're starving. The feeding guidelines on the back of the bags should only be used a very loose starting point. Some companies are more realistic than others about their feeding suggestions - often overestimating.

The size of the puppy's parents determine a lot about its structure and weight. Of course, we humans can always muck that up with overfeeding.

Mine at 10 months is 100.7lbs. He is not fat and he is not skinny. His mom was in her high 70's low 80's and his dad is well over 100lbs.
