Tucson came into my life at the age of 9 months. She had been removed from an abusive owner and turned in to Lab Rescue in Maryland. She weighed 35 pounds and had several broken teeth from beatings. She was afraid of everything and everyone except small children. She became a beautiful 75 pound bundle of love over time. We had a hard first year; she was an alpha dog and turned on me when she became comfortable in my home. She also bit several people. After hiring a private trainer who worked with us these issues were resolved. Tucson would have given her life for me. She was my buddy, my love for over 11 years. She started having seizures at about the age of 10 and was then diagnosed with an inoperable lipoma that was wrapped around her lungs and heart. She was given 6-12 months to live. Her quality of life remained good until she turned 12 at which time my very caring vet and I helped her over the Rainbow Bridge.
Tucson made me realize that I will always make a home for a homeless or abused dog. In her honor I now have Nellie who also comes from Lab Rescue and I am fostering for the organization.
I will miss you always Tucson.- Mom

Tucson and Storm are running in the wind. They both started life having a rough time. But with our love they became our whole world.

It was a year for us on November 17th and we will never forget her. Tucson and Storm are guarding the bridge together.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, nellies mom. I am so glad to hear that you gave Tucson a loving home, after she had been abused, she was so lucky to have someone like you.

You will see her someday at the Bridge...
