Hi, I have a question, from reading the posts i see that Diamond manufactures Natural Balance, I didnt know this. I was thinking of switching over to natural balance. My question is to the people on this board who use NB do you all feel safe in feeding this to your dogs knowing its manufactured by Diamond? Has anyone ever had problems with the NB? I'm a little leary now about switching. Thanks

I feed Natural Balance (rolls) to several of our dogs as a supplement to their dry kibble, I do this for different reasons.
Marisol- very high energy (fly Ball/ agility) needs the extra calories so I feed 2 inches a day along with her PMI exclusive.

Jaantay- needs to keep herself built up, she has battled tick diseases and has bouts of arthritis.

Rasta- My Malamute and ski joring partner, needs additional cals. In the winter.

My Nephews dog an APBT cross. Was very abused and has auto immune problems she gets Natural Balance exclusively.

All dogs do very well with the roll food added to their diet. They are all easier to maintain (weight and coat) and we have never had a problem. We have been using it for about three years.

I have never feed the dry formula. I use different dry formulas, PMI Exclusive, Aspen, and some are on a raw diet. All my dogs get eggs, brewers years, flax seed oil and a couple get cod liver oil.

I use NB, but I only started using it about a year or so after the pet food recalls came out.

It works VERY well for Lia and I've never had any problems with her while on the food that I would consider related to the food itself. Considering this is the only food that Lia has ever digested well, I'm not switching to a different food again.

I've tried Nutro, Canidae ALS (old formula) and California Natural Lamb & Rice. NONE of them have worked for Lia. I do what I feel comfortable with and that's all that you should do too. :)

Good luck in making your decision!

My chihuahua eats Natural Balance fish and potato and has no problems. She has a very sensitive stomach and can't stomach grains or plants. I'm trying to slowing transition her to California Natural L&R to see how she does, but I think she'll have to go back to NB. She does fine with grain free, but will get bouts of diarreah every two weeks with anything else.

Natural Balance has been fine for her and I'm comfortable with it.

Noel's mom, Lias antics and Makwa's, Thankyou so much for the replies. I was just worried since ive been reading all the posts about diamond taking over canidae and people not trusting them because of past recalls and all. I never realized Diamond manufactured so many of the foods out there. 15 years ago i fed diamond to my sheba and never had any issues with it at all, never even heard of any recalls, now theyve had quite a few it seems. I would like to give the NB a chance though. Thanks again:)

I also use New Balance sweet potato and Venison ( dry kibble) and sweet potato and fish (canned) for Angel. She has both food and environmental allergies and this is the food that works best for her. I've not had any problems with it so we'll be sticking to it. There are very few limited ingredient diets out there for Angel so we really do not have a choice- I chose NB because of the ingredients and it's easily available to me at my local Petco!
Angel LOVES it too.
