Morning guys. Brief history - Sierra is 2 1/2 yrs old and has had food issues since 8 wks old. Lot of butt scooting, paw licking, itching and dry coat. We switched to NB D&P about 1 yr ago and she has been fabulous since. All those problems - gone.

Now, she is still eating the food but, I've noticed her licking her paws a bit more than norm. I've also seen a few butt scoots. Coat still fine - no excessive shedding or dryness. Nothing else is different - treats, everything same.

I know there is a huge thread here about the different look of the food and that some dogs are not enthusiastic about eating it, etc. But, has anyone experienced this type of situation? I sure hope not - I am NOT looking forward to going back to the food searching scene!!!!!!!!

Please let me know asap.

there are a bunch of other DP threads right now (I started one too). I did notice that someone recommended the venison and potato since it is still a hypoallergenic food and is made by NB. you could start there. But with all the hubub over NB not sure if you want to start there or look at other foods. Good Luck!

Do you happen to feed the NB Potato and Duck treats also? I'm asking as Piper has been itchy and softer stools after I opened a new bag of treats. We haven't had trouble with the food even though I had a bag or two with the lighter (or was that darker) colored kibble. We always seem to blame the food when our dogs start licking or scratching when sometimes I wonder whether it could be due to something outside-the pinecones she eats, the chemicals on the lawns of my neighbors or our own, the bugs and lizards she loves to eat if she can, the kleenex she takes out of the trash, etc. etc..

My husband gets so tired of me telling him not to feed the dog chicken, steak, or whatever else we are having for dinner. My kids say I made the dog allergic by being picky about what she eats, and the groomer still doesn't understand why she can't have the scooby snacks she provides and I bring in our own. I know at camp they give Piper treats even when I have told them not to.

I wish NB would let us know what is up with their food, if anything. If there has been a change just let us know. What is the big deal, unless they are hiding something?

As far as changing foods, I know I don't want to go through that all over again. Piper has been on NB now for 9 months and she is so much better being off of chicken and turkey. As Duck is also a bird, I wonder if she might have developed an allergy to that now.
