Angel is still in need of a home. He has decided not to keep her until she has the puppies. Anyone able to help without sending her to a shelter even if its a no kill one. I want her in a good home not waiting for someone to adopt her even if they do. Please help.

Jellibean - Have you been able to get in touch with Sarah? (littlefawn e-mail). She wants to help you, and has sent you an a-mail. Please please please, let me know if you don't get her e-mail.

Did you get links to no kill shelters? I belive they were posted in your first post?

Yes there was Barb, but I think it was in General Chat (and it was closed)
See here: Angel (http://www.lab-retriever.net/board/showthread.php?t=36077)

Angel is her brother-in-laws dog, and is pregnant. He wants to find a new home for her before she gives birth. She (jellibean) was also looking for NO KILL shelters.

Thanks, Tanya. If this person is not responding to the help already offered in the previous thread and via e-mail, what can we do? I'm teetering between puzzlement and anger at what's going on here.

Angel is a yellow lab looking for a home. She's 2 yrs old. Great with children and other animals. My brother-in-law has decided he doesn't want her to go to a shelter of any kind so now I'm trying to find her a loving home. I got Sarah's e-mails and she would have taken her but she hasn't had her shots and she didn't want to risk her dogs/cats getting something from her. If you know of anyone else willing to take her please let me know either by e-mail or post it here.

I'll refrain from making comments on that and stick to trying to help Angel.

There are links provided in the first post you did, have you checked those out? If you can't find your first post, see my message above and click on teh word ANGEL and you will find your original post. THREE links were provided, were you able to talk to any of those places?

Here are the links again, and there are various rescues mentioned in the posts above. I think those will lead you to your answer.

Thanks :) You're too kind :)

Jellibean - I found another site that might be of some help. But you'll have to browse through it yourself. I'm sure you can find a rescue nearby, and call to make sure it's a no kill one. It's a list of shelters and rescues in NC.

Best of luck.

Edited: oops, forgot the link! here you go :)

I can only echo what Tanya has said - surely a no kill shelter is better than the alternative - although I have to ask what the alternative is? Please Please do take some time to call some area rescues.

Ok, just reread your post and I see you do not want the lab to go to a shelter.

Then I PRAY that you contact the lab rescue. Most rescues are truely wonderful. They FOSTER the dogs, meaning Angel would live IN A HOME, as a family member and get all the loving she deserves. No shelther!

I have to say this, the fact that your girl has no shots is going to be an issue. Most fosters homes have other dogs and they would NEVER risk other pups being sick because of one pup with no shots. BUT, they must have procedures for this, a place to keep Angel safe and in a family without endangering the other dogs.

Please, Please, Please, contact the Lab rescue in NC:

But Tanya, a good rescue will take the dog and board if nothing else, until a 10 day quarantine after shots.....so yes, please follow through on Tanya's links.

I know, but the fact is, Angel will HAVE to be quarantied no matter WHERE she goes. No one is goign to risk their pets and other fosters.

Thank you for the info Linda. So after 10 days of quarantine and she would be safe around other dogs? Can she get her shots even if she is pregnant?

I'm so sorry if this sounds harsh jellibean, please do not let this discourage you. Ten days in quarantine is NOTHING to your little Angel if it means finding a good home. She would be in wonderful hands and safe.

Tanya, a rescue will spay her asap, too. Then she'll be ready for her shots, unless she is extremely pregnant now. 10 days is generally the rule. Of coure they also give them their vacs asap.

If they spay her while she's PG won't she lose the pups? I know when we took Jelli to get spayed (we had no idea she was PG) she lost them all. I don't want Angel to go through that too. Maybe I can get him to at least take her to get her shots and talk to the Vet about the spaying while PG thing. There is a no kill shelter here in Greensboro I'm going to call them and see if they do fostering also.
