I just do not know which one I am getting. I get second pick. I am sooooo nervous. I know what type of dog I want, have bought our current lab from the same breeder and I just am nervous. Some know my story, but our current lab, born a little over two years ago, litter mate had pups which I will be getting May 31 (sat) She had 8, two did not make it and sooooo saddly, Kiddo, the mother died of internal bleeding so of course. I worry about socialization and the lack of the mother and so forth but am extremely confident of the breeder. I am strong enough to walk away if the pup is not right for me as I am looking for a more docile, calm pup as I will be training her to be a therapy dog. Geez, I NEED THERAPY. Seriously though, you would too if you had two dogs!!! LOL...And there are MANY of you that do...WHAT? R WE NUTZ?????
Anyway, I guess the initial reason why I posted in this category is b/c of the pics of my new "potential" pup. (from 12 days old to most recent) These pics were provided to me by http://www.geocities.com/mcdeelabs/
which is how I was referred to this site. Kuddo's to mcdee's for their patience with my peristence and extensive communication as a breeder and to the extent they go through in providing an awesome breed!!!!!

Looks are not everything and I plan on spending some time before I make my decision. I am sure they have changed much since the receipt of my last picture. Can ya tell I am nervous yet?????? (sorry about placement of pics...it's late chicago time)

they are all beautiful! I thought I would have a difficult time picking out Jackson, but it was actually pretty easy!

Good luck!

When we first got our lab a few yrs ago, we almost did take 2 home!!!! You see them in person and your heart melts. I wanted to gobble them all up. Fortunately, all pups had deposits. Little did we know, picking the one we did, WAS LIKE HAVING TWO! My boyfriend HAD to go and pick the wild child with an attitude! He knew right from the moment which dog he wanted but we observed for some time before making a decision. The breeder thought we were probably staying for dinner we were there so long..lol. But it IS a major decision. We were just talking about that the other day. His personality is still the same from the day we got him (7-8 wks old). I remember as if it was yesterday. I do not want a wild child! But who can tell, when their pups I guess they are allllll wild! Im going to doggy proof my house today. Sort of like when you child proof. They say to get on your hands and knees and crawl around and grab anything dangerous within the childs reach. HMMM, I wonder if there is a way to lift EVERYTHING off my floor. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know....:p: :p: :p:

They are all to adorable! How can you tell when they are pups what type of attitude they will have? I know that breeders go by their parents but can you always make this assumption with pups? (Just wondering...we are considering getting Teddy a playmate)

I have been told around 8 weeks. I asked the breeder at I believe 5 weeks and it was just starting to develop but she new in advance what I am looking for so hopefully one of them will have it. I do not make assumptions, ESPECIALLY after getting the GSD. I look at the parents, who they "shacked" up with...lol...
Looks are one thing, personality is different. I guess there is no guarantee but from our experience, the two dogs we have are the same as the day we got them. :2cents:

Gosh - how about #1,2,3 & 4? They are all so sweet. Just relax, take a deep breath and let her choose you! When we went to see Abbie's litter at 4-5 weeks the breeder had little collars on to keep track of the "birdy" ones. Lil' green collar one would not leave me alone and we really liked her personality. We did not get a pick of the litter but would you believe who the last one was - lil' green collar! Good luck - I know you'll do good!
