We've been feeding Molly Ann Kirkland Brand Lamb and Rice and Diamond for most of her short life (she's 10 months old)...for a short time we fed her Nutro before switching to Kirkland. She's done fairly well on it, although she doesn't really gobble it up and she has had some bad gas of late and some loose stools.

Well, we just picked her up from the Kennel following our trip to Florida and instead of bringing her food to the Kennel, we thought we'd let them feed her what they have which Pro Plan Lamb and Rice. I thought for sure there'd be some problems when we picked her up making me regret allowing her to eat their food, but surprisingly....she did very well on it...had very firm stools and NO GAS! I bought a small bag to try at home and she actually gobbles it up as soon as I put down the bowl!

I think I'm going to stick with it for awhile (even though it's a bit more expensive and not rated as well) because Molly Ann sure seems to like it!

It's always nice to find a food that works. I think I fed the Purina ONE L&R over Pro Plan just because Pro Plan has wheat, but if that's not an issue (which obviously it's not) then that's nothing to worry about.

I just wanted to add that I used to feed my Toby a super premium food....but he constantly was "scooting" and had repeated ear problems...I have switched him to a "middle quality" food (if I can say that) and he has been doing so much better...no more ear problems and no more taking him to the Vet to get his anal glands expressed (I know...poor Toby)...I personally feel that some very high quality foods are much too rich for some dogs....Toby has been doing great on Eagle Pack Holistic Lamb and Rice diet...and I sometimes add a little EP canned Lamb and Rice to it....I also believe...feed what works! He is happy, healthy and looks beautiful! I also feel that more and more dog food companies are making much healthier foods with better ingredients...especially if you compare the dog foods of years ago...

It may be too early to tell since your pup hasn't been on the food long, but if it's working well and producing better results, stick with it.

I know many breeders that wouldn't feed anything else. If I found I needed to make a change, I would consider Pro-Plan based on the results I see in other people's dogs.

My breeder is one of the "Pro Plan Only" breeders. Jax was on Pro Plan Puppy until he was 4 months old and then I switched him to Pro Plan Adult (Chicken). He is doing very well on it so far.

I feed Hestia who is 11 months Pro plan. We have had no problems with it. We are moving from France to USA soon and I have been trying to find out the % of meat put in the American version of this food but Purina will not tell me!!! (on the European site it is no big secret and listed as 20%)

I need to find out if the receipe is the same for the Europe food and American food to avoid stomach upset for Hestia, does anyone know the meat % ????????????

Seriously thinking of changing food as this company is sooooo unhelpful and not customer friendly. At the moment I think Purina are hiding something.

the 'no gas' aspect is definitely a plus for me :ibow
