Hello, my name is Stacey and I am new to these boards. I hope to have a good time here!

I just recently lost my 9 year old yellow Lab. I was forced to put him to sleep because the muscles in his throat that allowed him to breath went out on him and he was breathing through an area the size of a needle.

I've been doing alright I suppose, as good as one who just lost their best friend can do. I am going insane without a dog though, but it will have to wait until I come home from my vacation starting the 20th. I'm looking to either getting another lab or an Australian Shepherd.

Well I suppose I've said enough, I'll see you all around!

BTW, there are more and better pictures at his website:

Hi Stacey & Welcome!

I am so sorry for your loss! I must admit when I saw Hunters site my eyes got a little misty :cry2: . It looks like you gave Hunter a lot of love and care! Im sure Hunter can never be replaced, but good luck on finding another pup to love and care for, just the same as you did for Hunter.

Welcome , Stacey. I'm sorry to hear about Hunter. My heart hurts just reading your story - it's a very hard thing to say goodbye. I think a new puppy is just what you need . Plus all of us here have those same feelings and love our dogs as much as you did Hunter. Stay here and meet some friends!

I'm so sorry to hear about Hunter - I went to your site and just love the words and quotes of comfort - I too had to put down my yellow female that I had for 8 years (back in 1998) and I still miss her deeply.
So glad to hear you want a pup - I thought I would never want another but now I have 2 and I love them to death.
Keep us posted

Stacey-so sorry about losing Hunter. I know how you feel as we put our 13 1/2 yr. lab. in Nov. There are so many things that you miss about them. I did get another chocolate lab in Sept. and learning to love again.

Hi Stacy, and I thought my dogs were the only ones spoiled. Great web site.

I too had to put down our 14 year old Lab this past November. It hurts. Then you wait awhile and you get another pup. I got another pup (Lucy) and she is 5 months old. I sort of wondered if she (Lucy) would replace Mariah. Nope not at all. Different pup a different personality but just a love all the same. I guess I am really glad she did not replace Mariah. I have a special place in my heart for Mariah just the way Lucy is making a special place in my heart. Keep your head up and just enjoy the new pup.

I am sorry to hear of your loss, lost our friend before Christmas.
You can't replace your friend, but a new one can't hurt..
