Well, I got myself a Rebel Xti!! I went to a camera store to check it out and then ordered it online. It should be here tomorrow:D:D. I already made a date with a friend of mine to go to the Arboretum and play!! For those who remember the television show Fantasy Island, the Arboretum is where they filmed it so there should be plenty of good material to shoot:thumb4:. Can't wait!! Thanks to those who offered advice. I am sure I will be on here asking many more questions.

Just a thought. Did you get a CF card with it or have one already? Many of us have made that mistake and been disappointed when the camera arrived but couldn't use it because of no card.

Congrats! I recently purchased the Rebel XTI and love it. I just need more time to take pics. Lots to learn too.

ShayneIt came with one 2GB card and I bought an extra one, so I will be ready to go:thumb4:.

The other day I was looking at buying one, but I had a grandson move in with us instead. So the camera will just have to wait.

You know what the worst part of getting a new camera is? When it's delivered, you open the box and realize you have to charge the battery fully before you can start playing. :rolleyes:

First thing to do is grab the battery and charger and plug them in ... THEN take the camera and manual out and start reading. Don't keep checking the battery charger to see if it's stopped blinking, you'll drive yourself nuts. Give it a couple hours.

Have fun and enjoy your new toy. Do not get overwhelmed by "instructions" just start shooting and having fun .... THAT is what it's about! :thumb4:

Congrats! Have fun with it. I have never been to the Arboretum ... there are so many places I would love to go to in LA. Never have the time! grr.
