Just sitting here reminiscing about my “teenage” years… Thanks to Hippey_Chic brilliant idea for a Word Association game… http://www.lab-retriever.net/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2480

My teen years pretty much covered…hum? I “vaguely” recall Hair Bands, Spandex, Leather Pants, & my hair almost touched the ceiling at one point in time all the way to Grunge bands, Plaid, Doc Martins, etc.. etc.. etc..

So what about you guys what was “Cool” in your teenage years? I know off the Lab topic but just thought it would be fun to see what others went through in those dreaded teen years.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

It was not very long ago that I was a teenager. Three years to be exact. I don't know. See you have all that cool wanker stuff, and I have nothing about my teen years. See why this day and age sucks???? Where are our Hair Bands? Our Doc Martins? We have nothing...

Hyper Color Shirts that leave a hand print, Flannel Shirts, Sam & Libby Bow shoes, Keds, bannana clip, every cool guy in elementary school had bart simpson punk hair, 90210, Green Day, Alf, Nightmare on Elm Street, Ford Probe, A bedroom full of black light Jim Morrison Posters and Glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, and last but not least,THE BAD BOYFRIEND that taught me how to drive a straight, drink from a bong, and the meaning of Bob Segars song "night moves" (loser)

I remember Cal Jam II, and going to see Alice Cooper, Queen, The Who, Elton John, Styxx, Jackson Brown, The Kinks, Ted Nugent and whoever else I could cram in! Wow! What a rush, man. Guys in Levi's that looked like they were carying a "load". Girls in wide bell bottoms and little tops. I was one of only 2 girls in auto shop at school. God, I loved high school!! Notice I don't say much about classes.:brow:

high school ...........graduated in 1990

Girbaud/Guess/Cavaricci Jeans, LL Bean boat shoes, BUM Equipment, Champion sweatshirts, ESPRIT, Liz Claiborne.
Pegged pants!!!!

New Edition, Guns N Roses, Run DMC, Def Leppard, MARRS, Sugar Hill Gang ....singing Supersonic over and over and over again until we finally knew all the words.
Junior year my first CD Walkman.
Mix tapes!

Two-a-days in Field Hockey
Pre-seasonbasketball practices that proved you could always work harder in the off-season
That first bad hop on a frozen softball field and killing your hands if you hit the ball in the wrong spot w/ a cold bat.
Getting taped before games, trying to get that tape off after games.
Seeing my breath while running "suicide" sprints at 7am practices.
Driving the bus drivers crazy w/ our loud music and incessant laughter (if we won, if we lost the bus would be dead silent)

Wintertime meant going sledding at the local golf course - but we called it "trash bagging" b/c we'd use a hefty bag.
Sneaking peppermint schnaps into our hot chocolate.

BCA "beer can alley" - the place everyone went JR & SR year to drink beers (or wine coolers - if I ever drank one of those now I think I'd be sick ....too sweet!!!)
Holding back a friends pony-tail while she got sick

Going to "the line" during the summer .....the beach. Someone always rented a beach house .....walking around the beach all day and cruising the strip all night.

Staying up until 3am to do a paper I'd had a month to work on. Spending a solid Saturday at the library in desperation mode. Getting butterflies right before SAT's.

The Prom - Graduation - Graduation parties.

Hmmm.... real tough topic for me... hehehe.... I graduated in 2003 !!!

My teen years (thus far... I am only 17):

Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean rhinestone-type-purses, flip-flops, grey New Balance tennis shoes, American Idol and other reality shows, "Friends" tv show, souped up Honda's with 6ft. spoilers that sound like POed bumblebees, Express jeans that give the illusion of the coveted J.LO butt, Sonic cherry limeaides, Marlboro Menthol Milds, falling asleep in the bed of someone's pick-up after drinking Jack Daniels and Coke (the soft drink) all night, Joe's Crab Shack t-shirts, doing pilates with the girls trying to get ready to squeeze into our prom dresses, duct taping various parts of our bodies into our prom dresses.......

Ah..... those were the days huh? LOL!
