OK, I started this in the general topic forum, then we decided it would be better here.
I was thinking it would be cool if people going to the Colorado Lab BBQ could post pics of themselves so we would all sort of know who is who when the day comes (besides the nametags).

I know we have the photo thread already but a lot of those pics are outdated and you have to go through so many pages of them to pick people out.

So anyway - heres the latest of me. I don't have one of jason so I will try & get another one of both of us tonight.

Ok.. I am the brunette and my best friend that might come with is the blonde.. or if the guy I am dating comes instead of her.. he is the one in the back behind her next to me - Its the most recent pic that has both of us in it.. Its from the lake this weekend.

We're back from Aspen and didn't really get any good pictures of us. So I remembered that we took a Christmas picture with everyone in it...so here it is.

We had a great trip. Very relaxing and nice. It was a great time of year to go to Aspen, as it's mostly locals now and it's nice and quiet. Lots of discounts to be had, too, on hotels, food and even the spa!

It already seems like it happened so long ago. Just 2 days back at work will do that. But we're sure looking forward to the BBQ!! It just might be our first time camping this summer.

Looks like the recent rains are really helping them this year, so we should have lots of them for the Lab Fest. Not sure of the name of them, we have many flower books, but haven't really nailed them down name-wise.

Ahhh, Great Pictures! I sooo wish I could have come! I'm so jealous!! I'm gonna be checking all day for pics too :D Hey! Next year how about Hawaii?? J/K ;)

As a lot of you know, jackyscott's Georgia is a rescue from what can only be described as a hellish situation. Click here for Georgia's Story (http://my.execpc.com/~jschmitt/georgia.html)
Anyway, part of her story is that she was attacked and chewed on by a pack of dogs. Jacky and Scott have done a fantastic job with her and she is a walking miracle. But suffice it to say that, very understandably, she has some issues with large groups of dogs. She made a huge breakthru during the Lab Fest in becoming a much better socialized Lab, thanks to the hard work of Jacky and Scott and many at the Fest. Georgia's spirit and hard work in conquering her fear is a powerful lesson to us all. It can happen, even from the experience she had before. Here she is Sunday morning hanging out with Calvin and Calley. Jacky, Scott & Georgia - our hats are off to you!

Aww you guys....we were so proud of Georgia and everyone was so understanding with her. Once the first day was at an end and all the dogs were tired she came out of her shell and was at the firepit with us. She even let Calvin give her lots of labby kisses. Zeus was soooo tired - he slept ALL the way home - which was such a long drive - OMG - we followed semi's and were really getting super tired between 2 and 4 in the morning. We got home about 6am - left CO at noon. WHat a drive - but we made it and crashed into bed. It's almost 1 now and we just got up a little while ago. We'll be posting pics soon.
Thank you Mike for making a CD of all the pics for us. And we were very very impressed with Connor - what a great kid - for someone so young he never ever complained or got bored or whiney - he was fantastic - hats off to Mike & his wife for raising such a wonderful kid! He was great with Georgia.
We had such a great time and just want to say thank you again to John & Jeannie for hosting this event and opening up their home to everyone. They were great hosts and we had tons of food and a great breakfast on Sunday. You guys are the best. Everyone there was fantastic. We were worried about how Georgia would do but everyone was great to her and we knew all the dogs were trained and "part of the family" and nothing got out of hand.
John & Jeannie you have doggy heaven for a yard - what a great place and what a view!!! (Pics soon)
Just wanted to post and say we made it home - we're just totally exhausted - we got tired just unpacking the car - LOL!
Now I have to vaccuum about 2 dogs worth of hair!:D

It was a wonderful get together! I had the time of my life visiting with all of those who attended and wished all could have come!:rolleyes: J&J are awesome hosts and made me and Connor feel right at home! Lisa - those are GREAT pictures!!!! I love the ones of Heidi and all of them trying to get under that car. Too funny!!!!

It was such a great time - just too short and too long of a drive home. Next year we'll take 2 days each way for getting there and back and some time to sightsee a little - I want to show Scott the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.

It was great to actually meet you in person!!! and just think of the scrapbooks we'll share next time!

I just read this entire thread and WOW what a great time..I'm soo jealous. You all really rocked and set the bar high for a lab board get together. Looks like it was great fun. I can't get over the wine, quilt, cookies, etc....what a talented bunch. Looks like labs didn't have to bad of a time...whose labby is begging for their buddy to visit again?! :D

Wow.. really Deb? We didn't get to go through Aspen.. but if its anything like Vail.. count me in.. I really wish I could move out there.. I have been to a lot of states.. and NONE are as beautiful as Colorado.. We have a branch of our office in Littleton (I think thats what its called.. or Arvada..) Maybe I could transfer ;)

All we have to say is that you all are invited back anytime. We will for sure do this again! :D

Hey everyone! I havent been on much lately because of my crazy new job - but I just wanted to say I had a reallllly great time & would love to do it again if anyone is ever up for it! It was so great to meet everyone & everyone was SO nice!

And I know Isabelle had the best 24 hours of her life - she was having so much fun I only got her to sleep for SIX hours because she wouldnt stop playing fetch! Luckily when we got home she slept for almost an entire day.

And thanks to CalleysFamily for being the best hosts ever, and Mixedupdog for all the awesome treats (and the great field hockey balls!) and everyone for driving both short and long distances to hang out and talk about dogs in the cold rain. I had a really great time and I know Lauren and Aaron did too.

I don't want to wait another year, I think we should have "Colorado Lab Fest 2004 and a half"!

This thread totally chokes me up. Not only one devestatingly gorgeous set of pictures after another, but all the bonding.

I knew it the first night I registered on this board... this is NOT your ordinary group of people. This is a family.

This HAS been a fun thread to follow! What a memorable experience for all of you. And I agree with GusJack... you've set an impossibly high standard for lab gatherings!

Miss Lisa... your pictures are WONDERFUL! I love the group shot of 5 labs on the deck. (Hmmm, I wonder how many treats were involved in that one?) Your girls lined up to look under the car was hysterical! Thanks for posting all of the great pics! It makes the rest of us feel like we were there... and REALLY wish that we were!

Pebbles, the only Chocolate there, making the morning rounds and helping feed the horses with John

the Rumple Minze and Cabo Wabo shooters!

the Laughing Lab ale that never tasted better

Isabelle's stare

different shapes and types of Labs - cool

different shapes and types of folks - cool

it rained and nobody really cared or threw a drag

no shop talk, politics, religion, etc. - it didn't matter

how are you? your lab? - it mattered

tired Calley still wanting to party with the other Labbies, but laying quietly

Calvin and Kali meeting the horses in the barn

Kali crawling under the fence, then jumping out of the stall to be with Lisa

too much food - we are still working on the leftovers

so many different ways to roast a marshmallow or make a s'more

Arthur - so much like our Joshua (at the Bridge)

- Watching all the dogs run, you could always tell which one was the newest dog there.. the others ran behind, a little bit slower, each time another dog got there.. Calley was the first to tire, then my three.. and so on and so on.. it was cool to be able to tell who just showed up :)

- The drive and how beautiful Colorado was... (And how many cute guys there were in Vail ;) )

There is one downfall to the trip..

I'm finally home and able to see how the Lab Fest went!!

Well I for one am now VERY glad that I didn't make arrangements to go because it looks like everyone had a terribly, horrible time. Sheesh, talk about placing all the labs in a torture chamber, they look miserable!!
And all that food and all those fun little gifts everyone got-huh...no thanks...what a bore!!! :D :angel:


hehehehe..okay, okay, so maybe I AM a teensy, tiny bit jealous!!

I wanna go to a LabFest and meet everyone! :mad: :D
