Chocaholic 08-17-2006, 10:51 AM We're gonna be gone on vacation that weekend (and the next)...I don't know if I could've made it anyway, but I would've tried. Have a GREAT time everybody!!
labcablady 08-18-2006, 09:13 AM I seem to be in the post now... I have been having alot of problems getting in the forum lately. We just changed ISP's two days ago so I hope it will make a difference. Having problems with my email now... trying to get teh settings in outlook correct. I swear if it isn't one thing it is another.
Whatever Amy says about the fest is gold. I believe she wants it to start at 12:30. I don't have anything else to do that weekend so I won't miss any of it like I did last time.... Grrrr missed the raffle. Enterence to the fest will be $5.00 per person and all entry fees will go to Joe Maringo's Lab Rescue. Donations will also be welcome.

Did we ever find out where the raffle money from last Lab Fest went to? the local rescue? Joe? Just wondering, never heard anything else about it all. :D
sounds like you guys are going to have an awesome time!! Can't wait to hear about it! :D
Mommy's 2 Girls 08-18-2006, 10:34 AM Hurray, Charli can't wait!
Lora~Do we still need to show proof of shots if we were at the first one?
LabsOhio 08-21-2006, 04:59 AM Great! I am glad we have a time figured out now. I am so excited to get to meet everyone!
Joe Maringo 08-21-2006, 08:09 AM AW, thanks for designating me the raffle benefactor. I will be there, and may consider bringing 3 labbys this trip. Diesel was pretty ****** he did not get to come last time:D
I will have another big Nyla gift basket this time, as well as a $25 gift certificate for Gun Dog Supply Co. They carry a lot of cool doggy products. I will also have special treats for everyone and their puppers again.
AND THE BIG NEWS!
I will have two of the lab rescue "T" shirts to raffle off. In case you don't know what they are, it is a shirt that says on the front "RECYCLE LOVE-Support Lab Rescue" and on the back is has the logo of ten of the forums well known rescue groups. Many people have been waiting since the last labfest to get one and the details are almost final. Just a few more days and they will be available :D
Can't wait to see you all there, I am getting excited!
amyh521 08-21-2006, 06:19 PM This is AWESOME!!!

joe903 08-21-2006, 06:29 PM great news on the shirts Joe! Of course you are going to have some of Bubba's Famous Salsa for sale correct? :)
I am doubting I will get to make this one with Amy and Klaus. I am having back surgery on 9/8/06 and am not sure how well I will be on my feet after a week of recovering. I REALLY want to come but we'll have to see how things work out.
How's that truck of yours running? Made any trips down to the great state of Texas lately? I'm sure you have some great hunting stories!!!

Yep, I will have a nice fresh batch of salsa by then. I am going to spend most of next week making enough salsa to last until next season.
Hope you get some relief with you surgery. I know how bad back pain can be.

Mommy's 2 Girls 08-22-2006, 02:38 PM Joe just take it really easy after your surgery cause & mind what the doctor tells you :nono: . My dad had to have pins and rods put in his back and they told him to take it easy for a while.

How was the pot luck thing last time?? Did it go off well? I know Joe's salsa and was that boar that Joe brought? That went off with out a hitch. Maybe we can put a sticky out saying here is a suggestion on what to bring, this is what is provided if you forget anything there is a Walmart right down the street (about 5 miles from PawsPark). Oh, we gotta remind people also to bring chairs...(just in case)
MyDogsAndMe 08-31-2006, 09:49 AM Hi there - Please let me know if you are making a pot luck list and would like people to bring certain items. I'd be happy to make something or bring extra plates, napkins, soda, water, whatever.
Amy - wasn't it you and your husband that I met the other weekend on the transport? We dropped 4 dogs off at Bob Evans in Huber Heights and we were late...
John

John
Yeah that was us!
I will work on getting a list together this weekend ....
Thats great that you are coming!
amyh521 09-04-2006, 08:01 AM Ok ... so I think we will be bringing some kind of dessert ... and I will bring several packages of paper plates.
So we need chips ... side items ... plastic forks and spoons
I think everyone should just bring their own drinks ... whatever you like.
Only a couple of weeks left!!!
amyh521 09-09-2006, 05:33 AM Ok folks ... I will be away from the computer for a few days because my DH had back surgery yesterday and I will be trying to help get him home and comfy.
Can you please check in if you are planning on coming so we know how many to expect?
Also remember we need to bring our own meat to cook and a side dish or dessert ... post what you plan to bring so we don't end up with all the same stuff!
One more week!!!
Joe Maringo 09-09-2006, 04:56 PM I will be there, and I think Barb will be there too. We will be dogs X 3 this trip, so you will all get to see Maddie and Bubba again, plus meet Diesel. Yes, we will have 3 yellows!
I am bringing several items for the raffle, plus my portable 6' table. We where a little short on room last time. I will probably bring some type of desert too. I'll also bring some chips for the salsa.
Some of you have asked, and yes, I will have salsa, apple butter, pumpkin butter and SUPPORT LAB RESCUE shirts available there. Sorry, no BBQ sause this trip. I can't wait! We had such a great time last trip, and Diesel just LOVES to swim :D
rushchic 09-09-2006, 07:34 PM I will be there! (thanks for the chair reminder!)
I am not much of a cook. I can bring chips/dip and some paper plates if that is okay
LabsOhio 09-10-2006, 07:37 AM We are bringing a chocolate cake, and mac and cheese. I want to bring some sort of salad as well, but cannot think of anything right now. I don't think you can ever have enough sides. Do you?
We are bringing Rose this time, by the time we pack her things, and picnic stuff, and camera equipment the truck will be full.
We are so excited to be meeting all of you!
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-10-2006, 02:29 PM We will be bringing sugar cookies with pumkins on them (sorry not much of a cook).
Did we all decided that 12:30 would be good? Its $5.00 a person and the raffle tickets will be set up at the front table where Lora sits. We are bringing a big tub to put raffle tickets in so we can mix them up really good.
Hope all is well with Joe, Amy!!
amyh521 09-10-2006, 02:43 PM 12:30 it is.
Joe is doing pretty good today. Still in a lot of pain but it seems to be getting better as days pass.
We are hoping (crossing fingers) that he will feel good enough to come to the Lab Fest. I know he really doesn't want to miss it.
KLabs 09-11-2006, 11:48 AM Sadly, I don't think Morgan and Layla can make it.:frown: I didn't realize this was the same weekend that our Nephew will being playing in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic High School Football Challenge. They live in AZ and we will have family staying with us. I might, just might, be able to sneek away for an hour but I can't promise. Lora told me so much about the last Fest and I was so excited we would be able to attend this one. I know you guys are going to have so much fun...I'm so jealous!
labcablady 09-13-2006, 06:13 PM Do we have a head count yet for those planning on attending? I am getting excited! Only 2 1/2 more days!!!!
With all the rain, the pond is completely full now and is in much better shape than it was at the last fest.
See you all Saturday!:)
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-14-2006, 02:12 PM We got the chips taken care of Amy and also got a big bucket for raffle tickets!
amyh521 09-15-2006, 07:03 AM Tomorrow's Lab Fest!!!
:clap::clap::clap::party::party::tup::tup::3dance: :thewave
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-15-2006, 07:43 AM Tomorrow's Lab Fest!!!
:clap::clap::clap::party::party::tup::tup::3dance: :thewave
 Charli is very excited about seeing her boyfriend Mr. Klaus!! Whats the weather suppose to be like?? In Cleveland its going to be high 70's-low 80's. So the big debate is what to wear  I gotta wear something that Mr. Klaus can ruin :floor
MyDogsAndMe 09-15-2006, 08:17 AM I would like to attend, but I frankly do not know how my dogs will react to all the other dogs. Just recently, they have learned to ignore the "evil" dogs within my neighborhood during walks. It sounds as if all the other labs coming are well socialized, so maybe it would work out. Thoughts?

I would say try it....Lora's yard is HUGE and the dogs can run for hours or they can play in the pond with tons of tennis balls everywhere!
If you don't feel like they are acting correctly etc. you can always take them home... :o:
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-15-2006, 08:58 AM Do not forget to bring proof of shots for your furbabies!!
What is everyone bringing for the pot luck thing?
Dave & I will be bringing sugar cookies.
amyh521 09-16-2006, 06:17 AM If anyone would like my cell phone number ... send me a PM.
Can't wait to see you all today!
Joe Maringo 09-16-2006, 06:31 AM On our way. If anything changes, please call me. 412-607-6808
See y'all soon!
MyDogsAndMe 09-16-2006, 02:09 PM I wish things would have turned out differently for me and my gang today. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm so upset and angry about what happened. I really thought Teisha would settle into it as she has been doing so good with ignoring the other dogs on our daily walks.
As for Teisha, needless to say, she won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I think the woman whose dog Teisha nipped/bit was Judy?? Please accept my sincerest apology - I hope your dog is okay - please let me know!!!
:(:mad::(:mad::(:mad::(:mad:
rushchic 09-16-2006, 03:48 PM Yes, please update us on the dog that got bit. Hope he is okay.
Too bad that happened, Dayton is quite a drive for your short stay.
It was GREAT meeting everyone. Like I predicted, Alex was out before I pulled out of that drive!
Thanks to those that organized this! You guys are awesome, and can't wait to get our Labs together again!

Glad you were able to make it this time around! It was a pleasure meeting you & Alex! It sounds like she had a good time!!
amyh521 09-16-2006, 05:57 PM As far as I know she was not a member of the board ... but a member of the park.
I had an awesome time. It was so nice to see everyone and meet new members!
I will have pictures posted this evening!
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-16-2006, 08:15 PM Hi~Hope everyone got home safe and sound! THere are some pictures and video in the Fire Hyd for those that are interested
labcablady 09-16-2006, 09:27 PM As far as I know she was not a member of the board ... but a member of the park.
She was not a park member. I can't remember her name, but the dog's name was Sampson. She told me she was a newbie on the board.
I hope Sampson is doing OK. The wound looked to be superficial and didn't require stitches. Looked ouchie, but Sampson appeared to be no worse for the wear.
Hopefully she will post and let us all know how he is doing.
I am also sad things didn't work out for Teisha. :( Sometimes dogs just don't do well in large social situations. I am sorry you drove all the way out here and had to leave. I do appreciate you being responsible enough to know when she had too much. Thank you.

Amy and I were pretty bummed out after hearing that someone's dog had gotten bit and you had already left. It was nice briefly speaking with you on the phone yesterday given the sucky circumstances. Hopefully we will meet up again on a rescue run or at the next get together... Your pups are beautiful and have had a rough life. All they need is some time and a lot of love and they will come around. Not everyone wants to deal with the tough cases. Thank you for taking on two... :D
Joe
Mommy's 2 Girls 09-20-2006, 01:39 PM Any news on Sampson or his mommy??? Hope all is well with both
