Just wanted to make a thread and thank everyone for coming out yesterday!
It was really nice to see some familar faces and pooches ... as well as meet new friends. I know that Klaus had an awesome time, as did Joe and I.
I wanted to let you know that together we raised $120 for Joe Maringo's SPARRO. I can't wait to see how our fundraiser helps out Joe.
I also wanted to add some links from the picture threads ... hopefully more will be posted soon.

We are looking at Early Spring for the next Lab Fest. Hopefully we can pick a date far enough ahead of time that more of our members can attend.
So ... once again ... thanks for coming everyone ... we really enjoyed your company!:D

I will speak for Klaus and myself... we both had an awesome time and cannot wait to do it again.
Yesterday was the first day I had been out of the house since I had my surgery and was a little apprehensive at first. I am very happy I made the decision to come out...
As always, it was a pleasure chatting with Mr and Mrs Joe Maringo and seeing their pups!
I was thrilled to see Charli Ann and really enjoyed talking cars/racing with Hallie and Dave. :cheers2:
It was awesome to talk with rushchic about our next favorite thing (after labs of course)... Rush! which, some of you may not know... is the greatest band ever!!!
It was great to meet everyone else and hopefully we can all get together again real soon...
Those of you that couldn't make it... you missed out. As Amy said above, hopefully we can get a date set in concrete far enough in advance that everyone can make it.

It was great meeting everyone and meeting all the Labs.
Alex made her first retrieve in the water! I was so proud of her.
Before winter hits, if anyone wants to go to a dog park, just let me know. There is one in my town too. Just let me know, we are always up for a little road trip!
Thanks again to all those who made this possible!

Sorry for not posting sooner, but we where all beat after the long drive home last night, then back up at 5am today to get set up for a GSD specialty show near me. Not only do I do retriever rescue, but I am the only help around for German Shepherds, so they ask me to attend. We place around 10 GSD's per year.
Barb and I had a great time as always. I enjoied seeing our old friends and meeting a few new ones. Sorry that I did not get to meet the people that left quickly for one reason or another, it looked like there where some great dogs that I never got to say hellow to.
The raffle was excellant! Lots of super items and a much appriciated donation for our rescue. I will probably use most of it toward Buddy's surgery from last month. We are just about paid in full and this will bring us even closer. By the way, I took some pix of him Wednesday and will post an update soon.
Poor Diesel had not been himself for a couple days and I was worried about the old boy yesterday. Fortunatly, after we all ate I took the 3 amigos for one last swim and he came on strong. He was swimming across the entire pond and chasing balls and toys. He was even considering the dock, but daddy said "NO". He is eating again and is generally his happy self. Not bad for a 14 year old. Maddie and Bubba where just happy as always. They enjoied the other dogs and the water. Wish we had a safe place for them to swim around home, 200 miles is a long ride to splash around for a while.
Thanks Amy and Joe for all the work putting this together. Looking forward to the next one. Hey, what if we shoot for December and we can have a skating fest! UM, maybe not:eek: :D
