Duke is almost 3 months (two days according to the b-day i gave him). i was just wondering how old everyones lab was when you went to two meals a day. i know it all depends but just wondering. he is already at two meals now. he eats at 7-ish a.m. and 6:30-ish p.m. everynow and again i see if he wants lunch but he never does so i really dont worry. just wondering what everyone else's experience was?

I kept mine at 3 meals until they they hit 4 mths or so. Then I went to two meals and will keep it at 2 meals for the rest of their lives.

Lab puppies should be fed three times a day until they are about 5 months old; then you can switch to twice a day feedings for life. You can also switch to an adult food at this time as well.
You mentioned that your puppy is not interested in his mid-day meal. How much are you feeding at each meal?

he is getting around 2 cups at both feedings. he gets a small treat when i am trying to teach him a few things but that isnt even close to making him full. he doesnt seem to be hungry either all day. plus he has the puppy belly and his ribs arent showing or anything that i would think that he is not getting enough. so i am not really sure what his deal is?

I think that 2 cups is a bit much for your puppy of only 3 months old to be eating at one sitting. (Are you using a measuring cup?)
For a puppy of this age, I would take the 4 cups that you are feeding daily and split it up into three meals. I would feed him 1 1/4 cup or so at each meal.
It is more wise to so this because you want to avoid a condition called "Bloat" which is very serious and life threatening. This can happen when puppies eat too much food in one sitting. This is why three smaller meals are recommended for Lab puppies.

i will cut back on the amount i feed him and see if he will he the three meals. sounds like it should be pretty easy to do. i just feed him that much cause he seems to be hungry still when i feed less.
one other question i guess. is the 4 cups about the right amount for the entire day then?

It really depends on what you are feeding and how your puppy looks. Are you feeding a premium food? You may want to look on the back of the bag for the feeding guidelines.
Remember that you do not want a fat puppy. Excess weight can do irreversible damage to hips/joints and bones later on in life. It is very important that you keep your puppy lean during the quick growth period.
If he looks good on the 4 cups, then that is fine.

my vet told me to keep feeding Jaeger three times a day till he is six months old. He eats 4 1/2 cups of food everyday and is usually still really hungry.

Just a key to remember in situations like this...Labs tend to ALWAYS act like they're hungry lol! Make sure not to overfeed. I am still trying to get this point across to my mom with Grace.

We brought Diamond home at 13 weeks and put her at 2 meals per day right away. We both work and couldn't get home for a mid-day meal. She is now 21 months old and is as happy as a clam still eating twice a day (or should I say being offered food twice a day).

Lucas ate 3 meals a day until around 4 months, then he stopped accepting his "lunch". Now, he would eat anything he could see, lol.
