Joshua, a.k.a. Doopadog, was our first born. He was a Lab-mix with a beautiful white blaze on his chest. Jeannie's Mom adopted him from a horse trailer parked in front of a grocery store and brought him out to our house just days after we were married in 1990. We were working so much then that we would drop him off at Jeannie's Mom's house with his little 'diaper bag' full of food and toys. Joshua was one of the smartest animals we have ever known. He helped us raise Kodi and Sebastian and was quite the disciplinarian  Joshua, not a day goes by that we don't think of you and Kodi. We miss you so very much and look forward to playing again with you at the Bridge!

Kodi was Sebastian's littermate and he ALWAYS had to have something in his mouth; rope, sock, whatever. They were not apart more than a few hours Kodi's whole life. Kodi was the most nurturing dog we have ever known. He literally saved Dexter's life when Dexter came home from the animal shelter so sick and shivering. Kodi just spooned him for weeks to keep him warm and kept him cleaned up. When we adopted Kodi and Sebastian from those college guys in the summer of 1990, we were just going to get a playmate for Joshua. We had a hard time picking as Sebastian was so sweet, but timid and with golden hair, and Kodi, had reddish hair and a little "propeller butt" tail. But Kodi would not be denied - he kept climbing over the wall of the pen where they had him just to be with us. Needless to say, we left with two perfect animals that day. Kodi, your compassion was a lesson to us all and your sweetness lingers in our home forever with your memory! See you at the Bridge!

They bring us such joy that there will always be a place in our hearts for our loving friends. Anubis and Akasha have become that way, never apart for more than a few hours at a time if at all, and I fear that when their time comes, they will join each other at the bridge together. I will aways have me a dog until the day I die. Thank you for sharing the wonderful story of Joshua and Kodi. It is nice to know that we will see them again!;)

So sorry about Joshua and Kodi - they are both lovely dogs. And thanks for sharing with us. It's painful to remember sometimes, but the good memories outway the sad and they enrich our lives so much.

What good stories! How neat that you recognize and appreciate their talents, and how they changed your lives and thoes of your other pups. I love the photos - Joshua looks very stylish with the sunglases pushed up on his forehead.

It's so nice to hear your descriptions of them. I'm sure they had a strong bond.
