I made these this morning for the boys. The recipe is from the Three Dog Bakery cookbook.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 teaspoons skim milk
2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix together oil, honey, vanilla, egg and milk in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, blend together flour, baking powder and ginger.
Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture and stir thoroughly.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes.
Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Cool
on a rack and store in an airtight container.

They are easy to make. They smell good enough to eat!

The ingredients say you can eat them. They don't look ant diffy from human cookies.

The cookbook that the recipe came from is "Three Dog Bakery".
All the recipes are made from ingredients that humans eat. So go ahead and eat all you want. They smell great!!! Probably just aren't very sweet. And the other recipes don't have salt in them. There is one called Labrador Lasagna. I am tempted to make it for my family, I would just have to add some salt. :)

Labrador Lasagna...LOL I would like to see the expressions on their faces after the meal when you pull out the cook book and show them what you made.

:D

I bought this book right before our trip...I can't wait to make home made recipes for the gang. They all seem sooo good.

And some of the recipes look good enough for us to eat, with a little salt or sugar added of course. :)

I'll be making those this week...I did make the Banana Mutt Cookies...the girls loved them, and they were easy to make. The hubby ate two of them and loved them...they are very bland he said, but pretty healthy. I have vowed to make the girls home made treats since it is much cheaper and I know what is going in them. If only I could make homemade raw hide???! :D
