Got an email regarding a yellow lab male named Pooh Bear, that is at the Mason County Shelter in Point Pleasant, WV. He is absolutely gorgeous....check out his smile :) They are calling him a lab mix.

There are a number of other nice looking labs at this shelter also, mostly black, of course. (the "black dog syndrome" again)

Notes: Pooh Bear is a very sweet dog. He needs a home with no small children. He likes adults and gets along fairly well with the other dogs. He is very eager to please and knows sit and down. He would do better in a home with older children for he is a young lab who gets excited easily and could be too much for a small child to handle. With daily exercise he would do well in the home.

sigh, so many beautiful dogs in need of help. I wish I could help them all out. Bella came for WV too.

Pooh Bear is sweet as can be...I am praying for him.... :harp:

The County Commission is no longer overseeing this shelter...they are now trying to give the animals a better chance of finding homes....if you can't adopt....they are accepting sponsors on their animals...this will help save them. They are also accepting donations of any kind...they get very little funding from the County.

Yeah, the shelters don't like to call them PB unless they have an owner surrender and have proof. I have 4 PB's here and not one of them look like the other. LOL

:) Yes, well officially we are not supposed to label labs as purebred unless they have CKC or AKC registration papers to prove it. (CKC and AKC rule) but we all know obviously when we look at them if they are all lab. But I love them all - lab, lab mix, or any breed, but especially labs and golden retrievers :)
