Lovemylabby 12-27-2005, 09:31 AM Joe....this is just so upsetting....I am already helping another yellow Lab at Little Rock...just waiting to hear if he can be pulled and then I offered to pay for his vetting...and now I just saw this one....there are so many dogs at this shelter...over 120...it is just so sad....and I believe that many of them are strays and are someone's pets...they have to be? This poor boy...heartbreaking.
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 09:51 AM I really want this guy, I just know with the love of my family he would come around. What a doll baby.
LindaAcup 12-27-2005, 10:36 AM He's beautiful.
liana 12-27-2005, 01:48 PM :( I'll be at the shelter today. He'll make me cry!!
amymsanford 12-27-2005, 02:36 PM can anyone help this poor little guy. He looks so scared
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 02:45 PM I am really working on the DH, this guy is just calling to me. If we can get our home owners Association to give us permission then I think the DH will go for it. I don't want to get my hopes up to high, and if ther eis someone who is a sure thing that would be great. I am far from being able to get this boy yet. I am trying though. Pray that my DH sees the light and the board agrees. Or pray that someone else can take him. He does not need to be in there, he will not do well in this place, you can tell by the look on his face. He is terrified.
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 02:57 PM OMG, this boy is tearing at my heartstrings!
Poor, poor baby. My nine yr. old son was sitting here with me while I'm looking at all these poor dogs, he asked me why some of them are in cages. I told him that all of these dogs are in shelters, waiting for somebody to take them home and give them a loving family. He looked at me and said, "Why can't we take them?" I said this one? (since this is the page I'm on) and he said, "No, ALL of them... Jack would love some sisters and brothers and they are so sad. I think they would be happy here."
If there is anything that I can do to help this yellow boy, please let me know.
I would take him if he could get to Wisconsin.

I am sure they could get a transport together if you really want him. They got Bennett to me from Kentucky. I live in Florida and I was going to try and get him, so they should be able to work something out.
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 03:11 PM I am very serious about this poor baby.
He's breaking my heart, they all do- but this one in particular.
Does anyone know how he is with small children and other dogs?
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 03:14 PM I read teh petfinder nfo, I am sure that someone can call for you or you can call. I thought someone posted in this thread she would there today working. Yes, it was LIana, poassibly PM her and see if she can find some info out.
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 03:44 PM Lillybenny- I just pm'd her. Thanks!
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 03:45 PM I am jealous, but I wnat him to get a good home, if it can't be with me then I am happy it could be with you. I will cross my fingers. I would love someone on the board to get him so I could at least see updates.
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 03:45 PM PM Joe he is also a big help in things like this.
azawinsky 12-27-2005, 04:32 PM Trust me if you want him we can definitely get him to you. I am pulling a chocolate from Atlanta, GA and bringing him to Metro Detroit. Plus we have pulled from Georgia and had one transported to WI.
Trust it can be done.
miskeira 12-27-2005, 04:40 PM Trust us, it can be done!
Decker's Mom 12-27-2005, 05:21 PM what's up with this one??? Jacksmyboy.....do you think you will be able to get him??? He does look so scared!!! Just hope someone on here can get him!! Would love to hear updates and pictures!!
LindaAcup 12-27-2005, 05:28 PM Don't forget we pulled from KS, fostered in CO and adopted to BC. :)
Lovemylabby 12-27-2005, 05:41 PM Jacksmyboy....That would be wonderful if you can adopt him...keeping positive thoughts for this scared boy....they work miracles on this board...
TanDunc 12-27-2005, 05:45 PM He looks so sad. :(
miskeira 12-27-2005, 06:04 PM Jackmyboy - if you really want to adopt him, I can set up a transport to you. We just need to get heartworm tested first thing and they get him neutered, utd on shots before transport.
Liana, did you go to the shelter today to see this boy?
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 06:58 PM Yes! I really want him!
I took off for a little bit to make dinner and eat. I'm back now.
I definately want this poor baby. I was telling my mom about him and describing him, and she said, well its seems like you have already decided.
I need to know how he would be with my kids and Jack and my kitty.
Thats if they even know.... do they know these things about all of the dogs?
lillybenny 12-27-2005, 07:01 PM I am sojealous but so happy all at the same time. I sure hope this goes thru. Thinking good thoughts.
miskeira 12-27-2005, 07:12 PM Jackmyboy, I would call the shelter tomorrow first thing. They're number is 501-376-3067 and put a hold on him. Tell them that you're going thru Love of Labs Indiana in Noblesville, IN to rescue him. If they have any questions, you can have them call me at 313-806-2033. Ask them to temperment test him with other dogs and also with cats. Find out if he's at least got his parvo shot and bordetella. Most shelters will do this when new dogs arrive at the shelter. We need to get him heartworm tested too just to make sure!
Maybe Liana can pull him for LOLIN and get him to her vet to get him utd on shots and to be neutered. Has anyone heard from Liana to see if she went to the shelter to see this little boy?
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 07:15 PM I will call first thing in the morning.
I haven't heard from Liana, I pm'd her earlier.
LindaAcup 12-27-2005, 07:27 PM Maybe Liana can temp test for us........?
azawinsky 12-27-2005, 07:33 PM Jacksmyboy I really hope you save this guy. Just to let you know that its definitely a thrill when you start the process, don't get discouraged because everything will work out fine. You have alot of people that have been through it all with rescuing. For me I always seem to find the tough ones. LOL
miskeira 12-27-2005, 07:39 PM Maybe Liana can temp test for us........?
That would be great Linda. I'm going to pm her about it right now!
miskeira 12-27-2005, 07:45 PM Okay, I pm'd her. Hope she's able to help!
Cricket 12-27-2005, 07:56 PM Update? I'm praying for ya!
Cricket
Jacksmyboy 12-27-2005, 07:57 PM My fingers are crossed!
If there is anything that you guys need from me, just let me know.
I really hope this works out. This little guys got me.
All4Maddie 12-27-2005, 08:06 PM So hoping everything works out for you and this boy! He is definitely a heart stopper!
Susan 12-27-2005, 09:40 PM I sent Liana an email so she would know to check this thread.
Susan
michelle24 12-27-2005, 09:42 PM my prayers are for him, and him to find a great home. I prayhim a safe transport to you.
Lovemylabby 12-27-2005, 10:56 PM Praying very hard for this boy...you are a very special person that will change the life of this dog forever...just wonderful!
liana 12-27-2005, 11:16 PM All of this talk about me and I haven't even been here, LOL. I did not have time to check on this baby today. If limey is available, possibly he can go to the shelter with me tommorrow to evaluate this sweet doll. We don't have any way of evaluating him with children, but we can do dogs and cats.
Here is what I suggest doing -
I work with Karen of AR*RUFF, as everyone knows. Perhaps, we could pull this baby for you, get him vetted (vetting is $90 and includes hw check, spay/neuter, deworming (if neccessary), rabies, and all vaccinations)...and you could adopt through AR*RUFF? I assure you that this will be the easiest way.
Transporting will be no problem. We just got a Pit Bull all the way to North Dakota and with all of the amazing people on this board, I can guarantee you that it can be done.
He will need to be boarded during his stay though, it is $10 per day.
It is a costly process, but we can do it! His life is priceless!
Jacksmyboy 12-28-2005, 05:32 AM Liana,
I pm'd you this morning. Let me know where to send the info.
I've been thinking about this little guy all night. Jack was curled up and comfy sleeping next to me and I kept thinking about that poor baby sleeping on a cold concrete floor. It kills me. He needs to be curled up next to me too.
Thanks for all you are doing for him!
Decker's Mom 12-28-2005, 06:45 AM Looks like this is working out!! I am so glad....this board is amazing!! Wonderful people with HUGE hearts!!
lillybenny 12-28-2005, 07:40 AM I am happy to see that this looks like a go. Yeah another one saved.
Joe Tatar 12-28-2005, 09:24 AM Renea, I am so happy you are adopting Buddy. Jack will be thrilled! Be patient, transports are amazing to watch come together! All of the people involved in our transport for Lilly were such nice, caring people. It restores your faith in mankind!
miskeira 12-28-2005, 09:35 AM Liana, let me know if you need help with a transport. I would be happy to help get this little baby to his new home.
Susan
azawinsky 12-28-2005, 10:04 AM I will help out in anyway that you need me to.
lillybenny 12-28-2005, 10:10 AM Renea, I am so happy you are adopting Buddy. Jack will be thrilled! Be patient, transports are amazing to watch come together! All of the people involved in our transport for Lilly were such nice, caring people. It restores your faith in mankind!
Very true. The folks that helped with Bennett were the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
Jacksmyboy 12-28-2005, 04:15 PM Right now, I'm anxiously waiting. I have no fingernails left.
I'm hoping this all works out.
liana 12-28-2005, 04:54 PM Everyone! I went to the shelter today. Unfortunately Limey couldn't go today, but he will tommorrow. Yay! Anyhow, I spent time with boy Choco's (Peanut & Dude II) and both yellow's (Seven & Buddy). Here is my update with photos!
Seven -
*SPONSORED BY LILY*
Oh my gosh, if I do not find someone for this boy, I will cry! Seven is the most perfect dog that I have met at the shelter. He already knows "sit" and he has his stay almost down. He does not pull while on his leash and will walk right up next to you. He is good with other dogs and cats. He is already neutered. NEEDS A FOSTER!

Buddy -
Buddy is a spaz. I am sure this has to do with how he is still puppy. He is kenneled with another dog that is the same size as him and he does great with him. He also did wonderful in the cat room as well. He loves people and he has to be all up in your business at all times. I do not see him having a problem with children, other than the fact that he jumps and licks a lot :)

Peanut -
I adore Peanut. What a beauty he is. He is absolutely gorgeous. Very calm and collected, gets along with other dogs, as well as cats. He doesn't jump a lot (his butts too big!) and he loves people! NEEDS A FOSTER!
http://img313.imageshack.us/img313/5025/picture0132tu.th.jpg (http://img313.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture0132tu.jpg)
Dude II -
What a gorgeous beau! Dude is already neutered and like the others, adores attention. He does good with other dogs as well as cats. He loves getting pet and he gets so excited sometimes that he jumps, but his weight brings him down real quick. It was a riot watching him try to jump while on the slick floor. He would just slide and try it all over again. What a doll! *Dude wouldn't let me take a good picture! He was too busy running around!* NEEDS A FOSTER!

Outline for Jack - and those interested -
$90 vetting for those under 50 lbs
$110 vetting for those above
Vetting Includes hw check, deworming (if neccessary), rabies innoculation, all required vaccations.
Boarding is $10-$15 per day and they will need to be in boarding until transport can be arranged, as we have no available fosters in this area.
Transport can be set up via volunteer.
Jacksmyboy 12-28-2005, 05:27 PM Aw......
Buddy sounds just like Jack!!! My kids are so used to the licking, not so much the jumping- but we could work on that!
Whoa! Two hyper dogs? Somebody tell me I'm insane.....please.
Liana, what do we do from here?
I called the shelter today, they told me that they will only hold for a local rescue. Susan was helping me out on this, she talked to them as well. Please let me know.
Thank you for visiting with him and telling us a little more about him.
Also, for all your help.
liana 12-28-2005, 05:34 PM Hi Dear,
They do. I forgot. I have a local rescue that can pull him, but we need to A) Know that vetting is going to be paid and B) He will HAVE to be boarded and we need to know who is paying for that. We will then work from there! I have to go, but I will be back later tonight :)
Susan 12-28-2005, 05:41 PM Excuse me, but does anyone realize just how beautiful Buddy and Jack will be side by side? Wow. Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this happen!
Susan
PS to Lily and Liana, Seven sounds like a real keeper; I wish we had more Renae (Jacksmyboy) folks reading these threads; Seven will make someone an awesome companion. :shout: Carol (lillybenny) get your DH to agree to Seven!!
Lovemylabby 12-28-2005, 05:44 PM I AM SO EXCITED!!! Seven, the gorgeous yellow boy is being pulled tomorrow! He is already neutered....so I will be funding his boarding and UTD vaccination fees....YAY! He will be safe! He is so beautiful...hoping that his owner may still be found...but at least he will be safe!:thewave
liana 12-28-2005, 10:26 PM Right, but Seven still needs a place to go everyone! :)
liana 12-28-2005, 11:07 PM TRANSPORT SET UP FOR BUDDY. PLEASE READ THE TRANSPORT FORUM! :) We need help!!
Jacksmyboy 12-29-2005, 07:49 AM Excuse me, but does anyone realize just how beautiful Buddy and Jack will be side by side? Wow. Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this happen!

Susan,
I know!! They are going to make a stunning pair!
I think I will have my hands full. They sound so similar! Jack is also a spaz, he doesn't jump up, but attacks anyone who comes near him with tons of kisses and is wiggling that butt all over the place. Maybe if they have each other to play with, they will both calm down a bit.... ya think? They are both pups yet. They can be spazs' , doesn't matter much to me!
Oh, we are sooooo excited!!!
Now we just have to get him here!
Thanks everyone!
limey 12-29-2005, 09:12 AM I can see that it's going to be hard for me at the shelter - I already have a reputation for taking in strays from the neighborhood......
lillybenny 12-29-2005, 09:15 AM Right, but Seven still needs a place to go everyone! :)
God I would love to be able to adopt Seven. I seriously am trying to wear the DH down. He liked our two, he just wants more land before getting more dogs, but we have an acre. Not sure how much he more he wants.
Jacksmyboy 12-29-2005, 10:03 AM God I would love to be able to adopt Seven. I seriously am trying to wear the DH down. He liked our two, he just wants more land before getting more dogs, but we have an acre. Not sure how much he more he wants.
I truly wish you the best of luck.
Here's to hoping he'll cave!:cheers2:
Joe Tatar 01-02-2006, 10:09 AM Due to a family emergency, Renea in Hayward, WI cannot take Buddy. Liana is trying to get him into a local rescue.:(
azawinsky 01-02-2006, 10:18 AM I hope everything is okay. Is she not able to adopt him or the transport is just being postponed?
Lovemylabby 01-02-2006, 10:27 AM Oh dear...:frown: I am so sorry to hear about her family emergency...I hope everything is ok.....hoping they can work something else out for Buddy too.
Joe Tatar 01-03-2006, 06:50 AM Liana, Any updates on Buddy? Is he still safe???
Joe Tatar 01-03-2006, 08:57 AM Buddy's adoption fell thru. Still trying to find out his status!
Joe Tatar 01-03-2006, 11:11 AM Please take notice people. This boy's adoption fell thru because of an accident the the adopter's family. He was to have a forever home. He is beautiful. You want yellows - well here is a great one.

SablesMom 01-03-2006, 11:29 AM :frown: since I have a large male alpha senior at home I know it wouldn't work at my house for this poor sweet boy,
Prayers sent for him to be saved...
Martha
azawinsky 01-03-2006, 11:36 AM Martha, it may work out because he might be a submissive. I know that Reese is the most calm and go with the flow lab I have ever seen at 9 months.
miskeira 01-03-2006, 11:55 AM How about Dani? She said that she is getting alot of calls from people who want yellows in Michigan.
miskeira 01-03-2006, 12:06 PM Just talked to Dani about Buddy. She's going to make some calls so keep your fingers crossed for this poor little boy.
babasmama 01-03-2006, 12:06 PM This is too pathetic!!!! Please rescue powers activate!! I can't take this!! I'm already about to go from one dog to four...and I do not live on a farm or I'd haul him in too. Poor little pooper.
liana 01-03-2006, 12:29 PM Hi everyone, Buddy has a vetting sponsor and I am trying to get him into the rescue that is taking one of the Chocolates and a Lab/Mastiff. It is an all lab rescue called All About Labs and the only one in Arkansas (so she is PACKED). However, if anyone can provide assistance out-of-state or anywhere, we will be GLAD to arrange something. Let's go for Buddy!!!!
liana 01-03-2006, 10:55 PM Anything New??? I haven't heard back from the local rescue :(
liana 01-04-2006, 10:02 AM His local rescue hasn't gotten back to me. He is still VERY MUCH IN DANGER. Dani? Anyone?
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 10:12 AM OMG this is just so sad.
liana 01-04-2006, 10:24 AM He deserves so much more than that cold wet floor :(
Is he young enough for Donna to foster? If so, that may be our only option right now with us trying to work with Kilo.
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 10:43 AM He is breaking my heart. He looks so very scared. The poor dear.
Joe Tatar 01-04-2006, 10:46 AM Please....someone..........:tissue: :tissue: :tissue:
Susan 01-04-2006, 10:48 AM He is breaking my heart. He looks so very scared. The poor dear.
Carol, any luck working on DH ??
Susan
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 10:55 AM I wish. We are going round and round. I have not given up. There are several I am interested in, first and foremost this guy. He is breaking my heart. I foolishly promised that if I got Bennett I would not ask for another one. His concern is after this I will ask for yet another one. I said I would sign in blood if he wanted me too. LOL. I know my house limits and three would be it. I just sent him a copy of the article Newmans mom did about I know why you love your dog......we will see.
azawinsky 01-04-2006, 11:49 AM Hoping and praying your DH gives in.
liana 01-04-2006, 11:49 AM He is a pretty young dog. Definately not full grown, very active and playful. Good with other dogs. He is at the most, 25 pounds. I will weigh him today to be more accurate.
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 11:50 AM He is a pretty young dog. Definately not full grown, very active and playful. Good with other dogs. He is at the most, 25 pounds. I will weigh him today to be more accurate.
He must be young. Poor thing.
ourshiloh 01-04-2006, 11:51 AM I am praying very hard for little Buddy to be saved. I wish I could take him, but I know I can't. I will donate some ?? if it will help.
:tissue: :tissue: :tissue:
PLEASE......PLEASE......PLEASE..... SOMEONE, HELP THIS POOR BOY.
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 11:52 AM He is a pretty young dog. Definately not full grown, very active and playful. Good with other dogs. He is at the most, 25 pounds. I will weigh him today to be more accurate.
It says he is a young adult so I am confused as to why he wieghs so little. Shouldn't he weigh more? Poor thing.
liana 01-04-2006, 11:52 AM I will be at the shelter from now on today, then to work after that. If anyone has any Buddy questions please contact me at (501) 352-9736
liana 01-04-2006, 11:53 AM It says he is a young adult so I am confused as to why he wieghs so little. Shouldn't he weigh more? Poor thing.
I will see if the vet can take a good look at him and determine his age, we will get a weight, etc :)
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 11:55 AM I will see if the vet can take a good look at him and determine his age, we will get a weight, etc :)

lillybenny 01-04-2006, 12:46 PM Okay Lab board I know your prayers work miracles, please everyone pray that my DH will search his heart and soul and make the right decision, which is to adopr this poor guy. I need your prayers that my DH will say okay. I am praying everyday. I know the power of the lab board prayers.
Jacksmyboy 01-04-2006, 12:55 PM Oh Carol!
I am praying that your DH will let you have Buddy.
It would make me so happy to see him flourish in your care.
I would at least get to see him thru the lab board.
I will keep checking in when I can, don't have much time to get on here lately.
Wishing you the best of luck.
Renea
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 12:58 PM Well it is going to take a lot of praying because DH is being pretty stubborn. Two reasons. He siad we don't have enough room (definitely not true) the other reson is, that next week I am resigning my job to go to school fo r 4 months and he said we can't afford it. I don't agree. He is always paranoid about money. Anyway......he is digging his heels in.
miskeira 01-04-2006, 05:12 PM Hey Carol, I'm saying extra, extra prayers and positive thoughts that you DH will change his mind and let you adopt Buddy.
SablesMom 01-04-2006, 06:06 PM Carol, your concern & caring for this labbie makes my Heart SMILE!
Martha
LindaAcup 01-04-2006, 09:03 PM Do we have any other possibilities? Anyone to foster???
miskeira 01-04-2006, 09:08 PM Hey Carol, anything yet? I'm still saying lots and lots of prayers!!!! Fingers and toes crossed too!!!
Lovemylabby 01-04-2006, 09:39 PM Praying for this boy too Carol...gosh..I hope your DH will have a change of heart...why don't you show him all of our posts...would he let you just foster him?
babasmama 01-04-2006, 10:18 PM Oh....pleeeeeeeeeez!! I pray you can take him. His pix are the most heartwrenching thing....he is calling out for your TLC! I'm praying for your DH to feel the prayers coming off the board!!!
Lovemylabby 01-04-2006, 10:30 PM Praying for his boy...he needs a Labby Board angel...:harp:
lillybenny 01-04-2006, 11:02 PM Guys pray harder. Ieven emailed my dh the site about the graphic Atalanta shelter. I hope he watches it. My son is trying to wear him down. My dh is a very practical and logical man, not s bleeding heart kind of guy. Not to say he is cold he is just more is this practical. Iam so trying I just can't stand to see this poor boy so scared, especailly when there i so much love in this house to give too him.
liana 01-04-2006, 11:28 PM Hey Everyone!
I took new photos of Buddy today. I will upload them after this. He is very active. He definately needs to be in a home with another dog to wear him out! He is estimated to be at or around 6 months old and is 20-25 pounds. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN WEAR HIM DOWN!! Buddy deserves a wonderful home!
Lovemylabby 01-04-2006, 11:44 PM Liana...he sounds very underweight for his age? Is he eating ok?

liana 01-04-2006, 11:46 PM He is not underweight, but he is definately not overly fed! There are some photos!
azawinsky 01-05-2006, 06:45 AM Wow he is cute. Lily he may be like my Lab that I had as a kid. He was never over 50lbs and was very skinny. We fed him as much as he would eat, but he just didn't like to over eat. Now his sister was another story. Penny ate like crazy.
Joe Tatar 01-05-2006, 06:51 AM Boy, he is beautiful!
lillybenny 01-05-2006, 07:18 AM Wow only 25 pounds that sonds so skinny, even Lilly was 32 pounds at that age and she was skinny, everyone use to ask me if she was sick. He is a doll baby.
Lovemylabby 01-05-2006, 07:24 AM Gorgeous boy...really beautiful....someone please...look at him...:worried:
lillybenny 01-05-2006, 07:38 AM H elooks so sweet. My dh is just not budgin on this and when I tell him he is only 6 months that will definitely put a nix on it. He might eventually come around for a dog over the age of 2 but this will just make the road to changing his mind harder. The lab board prayers are not working for me here, maybe God has other plans for this goregeous boy. I am not giving up though. I am going to work onhim while we are at Dsiney this weekend. He willbe in a good mood then......and he will be relaxed...LOL I want one more rescue I hope iot is this guy but if someone els wants him then I am will be happy as long as he gets a home and I will rescue another one down the line. My Dh is going to change his mind....he just doe not know it yet....LOL
SablesMom 01-05-2006, 08:52 AM He is a Beautiful Boy!
Martha
Susan 01-05-2006, 09:15 AM He is so beautiful; what a sweetheart! My Abbey never weighed more than 62 pounds. She was PB and very fit, lean, muscular; she was just a little on the small side.
Carol keep working on DH.

Well I may come back from Disney with divorce papers but I am going to keep talking to him. I am trying to touch that place in his heart I know is there, the place he tries to hide, the place I see hwen he cried at 9/11 or when a fallen military person is on the news etc. He has a soft spot, he would never admit it, but he does. I am trying to tap into that. He has not watche dthe video of the Atlanta shelter yet...he keeps making excuses. I know it is because he knows if he watches it, it will be all over and I will be getting my third dog. LOL.
azawinsky 01-05-2006, 09:52 AM Carol,
Why don't you approach it from the angle of being a foster for this boy. You can always become a foster failuer at a later date.
miskeira 01-05-2006, 09:53 AM Hey Alex, that's a great suggestion!
azawinsky 01-05-2006, 10:05 AM Susan its a great way to adopt. I know you have participated in the foster failure group. Me I am teetering.
lillybenny 01-05-2006, 10:12 AM Tried that.... he knows me too well. He said the minute I borught him home I would be a goner and I wouls ask for him to stay. I think he is more afraid of actually likeing him and ot being able to let go of him. He is worried mainly about $ I think sinc eI am not going to be working until June. I am so hoping this trip to Disney he will relax a little so I can talk to him when he is not so darned stressed. I thik the age will be a huge hurdle to overcome too. He liked Bennett being over the age of a year. We had a VERY difficul time with Lilly. SHe was a horrid little pup LOL. She ate our new carpet, chewed up our bas borads and ruined the screen on the porch. He is very leary of anything that says high energy right now. Again because of $. Just keep praying. Like I said my resolution for 2006 is to adopt one more pup. I hope it is this little guy, but if not him I have several I am interested in and want to help. I need a FARM! lol

Ya know Carol we are more alike in every post! When I wanted to start fostering Chance My DH was dead set against it for the same reasons as yours - He said the whole " if he gets here you will want to keep him blah blah blah! He finally gave in and wouldn't ya know - He was the one to fall madly in love with my big lug! HE decided we could not give him up! I had to barter with him - OK DH if we keep him are you still going to let me foster another? Well he finally gave in to me. It's funny how hard they fall when they do let you find that soft spot within them!

DH has as huge soft spot for Lilly despite the fact she was such a turkeybutt as a pup. I think he actually likes the trouble making sid eof her. Reminds him of himself. LOL. She is a character and he loves that about her. Plus he said he feels close to her because we have had her since she was 7 weeks. BUt yet he does not want another real youg dog. Right now I can't get him to commit to any more dogs young or mid range or old. I will keep working on him. I nag with the best of them. If it were an olympic sport I would have the gold. I only nag on those things I know are truly good for all concerned. This would be good for him.
azawinsky 01-05-2006, 12:02 PM LOL. I know my wife hates Aowyn's devious nature as well, but everything she did as a pup and even now we look back at and laugh. I would still push the foster bit.
liana 01-05-2006, 02:26 PM I have a wonderful rescue in California that can take Buddy if we raise $200 for his boarding. It is called CARRE Labs and they pull almost specifically from LRAS. Our boarding is $10 per day and he will need to be held for two weeks. The rescue can cover his vetting and flight to California. Any takers??
Lovemylabby 01-05-2006, 02:56 PM Liana...I thought you mentioned earlier that this boy has a sponsor? Is that still the case?
liana 01-05-2006, 03:01 PM He has a vetting sponsor which is $90. So really he just needs $110.
liana 01-06-2006, 12:31 AM Anytime I say anything about sponsorship the forum dies. lol
azawinsky 01-06-2006, 08:54 AM Bump guys!!! We can all donate 10 dollars and save this guy!!!
ourshiloh 01-06-2006, 09:10 AM Good idea, Alex! Let me know where to send my donation.
Lovemylabby 01-06-2006, 09:23 AM Great Idea Alex....Count me in...$10.00 isn't that bad...we can all give up something this week that we don't need....
Lovemylabby 01-06-2006, 09:29 AM Liana..can you set something up where anyone interested in donating toward saving this boy can help? I am assuming it would go to the resuce organization that is helping him? Please let us know.
liana 01-06-2006, 10:28 AM All donations of the $10 can go to AR*RUFF Rescue at http://www.arruff.org :) THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!
Susan 01-06-2006, 10:39 AM Liana,
I just went to the link and I see how to make a donation, but I don't see how to designate the donation as going towards Buddy. I don't mind helping other dogs if Buddy's needs are met, but I would want my donation to go towards Buddy first. How do I indicate that?
Susan
Lovemylabby 01-06-2006, 10:41 AM Here is their address:
AR*RUFF/ Karen Ragsdale
8201 Camelia Dr.
Benton, AR 72015
liana 01-06-2006, 10:46 AM Susan,
I know the director personally as she pulls all dogs for me. I am e-mailing her and letting her know that donations are coming in for Buddy, and if you would like, you can e-mail her and let her know at krun11@sbcglobal.net that the donation of yours is for Buddy.
ourshiloh 01-06-2006, 11:12 AM I just sent a donation thru paypal and there is a message box for comments. That's where I put Buddy's name.
azawinsky 01-06-2006, 11:20 AM I sent one through PayPal as well. I didn't see a spot for 10 dollars, so I did 15.
Shantis Mom 01-06-2006, 11:23 AM Ill cover it Liana - is there a paypal account I can send it too?
liana 01-06-2006, 11:43 AM Just send to http://www.arruff.org/modules/donations/index.php. There is $30 donated already, so..if I listened in math class correctly, only $80 more is needed!! :)
Shantis Mom 01-06-2006, 12:36 PM Done! My most heartfelt wishes for a wonderful life for this sweet pup!
ourshiloh 01-06-2006, 12:57 PM Kathy, I know it's been said before but you are an AWESOME woman.
I hope Buddy can soon have the wonderful life he deserves.
Lovemylabby 01-06-2006, 04:54 PM I am sending in a donation shortly...:)
Shantis Mom 01-06-2006, 06:25 PM Lily I sent enough to cover what was needed so if you have not sent it you might want to use it for another dog in need?
LindaAcup 01-06-2006, 06:48 PM OK, you 2 Saints, quit fighting over who gets to help which dogs. LOL ;) You know I'm joking, but it just shows how wonderful both of you are.
C & C's Mom 01-06-2006, 07:05 PM OK, I am just reading the last two pages of this thread, have to start from the beginning, but looks like a Labbie of ours needs donations, so one will be made this weekend.
OK, off to read, if not now, later after I eat....
azawinsky 01-06-2006, 07:33 PM Kathy its that huge Texas heart!!!!
Linda, I put my money in, LOL
miskeira 01-06-2006, 07:43 PM Hey Alex, I couldn't agree more!!!!
ourshiloh 01-06-2006, 07:46 PM Thanks Alex,
I put my money in too and it was all because of your suggestion. :)
Maybe we can get an update on Buddy.
miskeira 01-06-2006, 07:49 PM Yes Charlene, I think we would all like to find out how Buddy's doing.
Hey Liana, how's our labby board baby Buddy doing?
azawinsky 01-08-2006, 04:07 PM bump for an update on Buddy.
lillybenny 01-08-2006, 10:10 PM I can at least send some $ in. I just saw this. Is money still needed for him? MyDH is not budgin on this guy. Says it is just too young. Lilly has scared him off the younger ones for a while. I mstill trying to get him to let me rescue one more. I can send money for now though. Does Buddy still need it?
azawinsky 01-08-2006, 10:14 PM Carol sometimes its hard to get the other spouse to budge. Buddy is safe and has the money needed to board him until he goes to Cali.
Another will be out there for you don't worry.
lillybenny 01-08-2006, 10:28 PM Thank you. I could probably force the issue a little harder, but I want my DH to be happy wih the decision. After all I need to know that he would not get rid of them if something ever happen to me, I want him to think of them as his dogs too. SoI want him to be on board at least a litle with decision and he just was not ready this time the way he was with Bennett. I think partly because he was still so young and the otehr part would be me just quitting my job to go to school. A little scary fo him as I have always worked. Would have offered to help donation wise sooner but we just got back from Disney this is the first time I logged on since Thusday.
liana 01-08-2006, 10:49 PM Hey Everyone!
Buddy has a vet appointment in the morning and will be pulled along with another lab (Maggie May that has been there since 11/3) to go to rescue in Northern California with CARRE Labs.
You wonderful people donated a total of $120 for Buddy's boarding. His boarding should be around $200, but he has a sponsor that is paying the $80 difference. He will be vetted and flown to California per the rescues expense.
Our boy is going to be a beach bum!
I am so excited for him and I appreciate the love, devotion, and compassion that Buddy and I (along with so many others) have received on the boards. Thank You!
Lovemylabby 01-08-2006, 11:05 PM Sounds Wonderful! So happy for Buddy!:bounce:
ourshiloh 01-09-2006, 07:40 AM :bounce: :bounce: YEAH Buddy!
I hope you enjoy California and being a "beach bum". Lots of warm wishes and good thoughts to you in your new life.
I hope we can get an update on him every now and then. :)
miskeira 01-09-2006, 08:06 AM That's wonderful about Buddy, Liana. Hope we can get updates every once and a while about him.
lillybenny 01-09-2006, 11:54 AM This is great news, now I won't feel quite so qjuilty that I was not able to help. I wish he .could have come here and been a beach bum

liana 01-09-2006, 11:52 PM Buddy is no longer at the shelter. He is at the vet for overnight boarding and then he will be vetted tommorrow. YAY!
liana 01-10-2006, 04:27 AM EVERYONE! Please check out http://sponsorsonly.urgentpaws.com. It is a website I made for people that have sponsored dogs mainly. It keeps you updated on the dog that you are sponsoring, so that you aren't just giving money to a dog you will never see again. It also lets you know how to sponsor, if you never have, and it lets you know what dogs need sponsorship or rescue at this time. Check it out and let me know what you think! :)
ourshiloh 01-10-2006, 07:13 AM AWESOME SITE!
Bless you for all the hard work that you do for all of these furbabies.
You are an amazing person. :)
lillybenny 01-10-2006, 07:27 AM WOW what a great site.
mylabamber 01-10-2006, 09:18 AM That is an awesome site, Liana! You deserve quite a pat on the back for saving all those babies. I'll make sure to bookmark this site and visit often. Carol - don't worry. There is another furbaby for you out there somewhere.
