Hey Guys, Gals and K9 Friends!

I seem to be using these forums a lot. You guys are SO much help.

Ace is almost 4 months old.
Originally, I was feeding Ace Iams Large Breed Puppy. However, I was quickly told not to use Iams by a co-worker (who is also a dog breeder.)
So, I changed Ace food by adding a little bit of Pro Pac(which was recommended by the co-worker) to his Iams and eventually only feeding him Pro Pac. This took several weeks.

His stool was fine while on Iams, except when he first came home. The vet said it was likely nerves of coming to a new home. Anyway, at his last vet visit (JULY 19th), he was given a good clean bill of health. However, lately - since he's been getting full Pro Pac, it seems as though his stool his loose again. He has been getting full Pro Pac for two weeks now. He even seems to have a little trouble going. He'll go, then move away, go again, move away, and then squat to see if more comes out. Is this normal?

Also, yesterday and today, he hasn't shown the same hyperness/happyness when he gets fed. Before yesterday he would jump around and go crazy when he heard me getting his food. I'd make him sit and wait for me to put the bowl down. Then, he'd go crazy and scarf it down.

Now, he just kind of sits there and waits. Then he sniffs the food and eats a little. He'll walk away and then come back a couple of minutes later. I don't know if this is something to be worried about. (I feel like a new mom. I worry about EVERYTHING!)

Anyway, incase you haven't heard of Pro Pac, here are the particulars of his food. Does this seem like a healthy combination for him and is it possible for a dog to not like his food?

Pro Pac is not really the best choice. There are healthier choices available for your Lab.
I, personally, do not care for the ingredients in Pro Pac...and yes...I do believe it is possible for a dog not to "like" his food.

Food plays such an important role in the overall health of your dog.

Cheyenne is 15 weeks old and is on Eagle Pack Large Puppy Holistic, and does just great on it!

How long has the bag you've been feeding out of been open for? It might have gone bad. We had similar symptoms, and it turned out that 40 lbs. was too much food for our boy to go through before the bag went bad.

I agree, it is possible that Ace doesn't like his food. Jasmine and Sawyer were that way with Diamond Naturals. They would look at me like "is this all there is?" We went through several foods before I found one they both like. Jasmine loves Iams but Sawyer wasn't so nuts about it. Eukanuba was the same result. I feed Pro-Plan and they both love it and are doing well. Sawyers coat has improved ten fold!

The bag has been open for a while. I was thinking that it could have gone bad.

What food brand do you guys recommend and what should I be looking for as healthy ingredients & Analysis. Our vet says Ace needs a Large Breed food, but we are just not sure which food to feed him.

I think on the 19th we will ask for more recommendations from our vet too.
