This story is about Pumpkin's Story:
"Pumpkin is a fantastic dog! Pumpkin is about 5-6 months old and just wonderful. She just wants to sit with her head in your lap and get love. She would make a great addition to anyones home! She does have a broken left femur which was set by a Vet Tech at the shelter but she needs to be seen by a vet. Initial estimates are that her care could cost up to $1000. Pumpkin had surgery for the leg and was spayed. She had a plate put in her leg which once she is healed will be good as new. We were lucky in that an orthopedic specialist was available to do the surgery. She got the very best care and is going to be a fantastic dog for someone. Everyone comments on how gorgeous and sweet she is. She has to stay overnight but will be in a temporary foster home on 5/20
Pumpkin has arrived at the Rowdy Retriever Ranch but she does not get to be rowdy for at least 4 weeks. Pumpkin's leg was badly broken and the doctor believes she was not hit by a car but rather someone did it to her and then dumped her. She is very sweet and loves everyone she meets. She especially liked Tim and Barbi when they came to visit her. Pumpkin likes to talk. She is definitely struggling with her leg all bandaged up and it will be like that for the next 4 weeks. She is so adoreable. I love to look at her and pet her. She is going to make someone a great dog! Pumpkin knows stay quite well, comes when called and is a good girl when she isn't being completely frustrated with being in the cast! Pumpkin's bill was considerable--almost $1000.But we could not let her sit in a shelter with a broken leg that wasn't fixed. That seemed cruel to us. Pumpkin is a gentle soul who deserves and luckily is receiving better. Pumpkin's forever home has now been chosen. But, if you would like to continue to show support, please donate to Pumpkin's medical fund. We still need funds for her surgery, and post surgery vet visits. Thank you so much for contribution!!!"
