Well I went to check out the new obedience school Bailey and I will be going to. OH MY:eek:

The mans credentials are impeccable and he seems really nice but oh my. There is no doubt in my mind Bailey will come out of it a really well behaved dog but oh my.

The course consists of all the basic commands, and also learning the basics of how to go thru an agility course with the puppy stopping at the top of some on command while still on the leash of course. He also does boarding and puppy day care. The place is beautiful extremely clean, crate free boarding, puppy and doggy pools.

We will go for 10 weeks for $150.00 and if not totally satisfied after the first three weeks you are issued a full refund.

It should be fun but oh my :)

When does Bailey start boot camp?

He starts in July because all his classes are full. So right now I am doing my best to make sure he is a little better behaved.

I have a tendency to spoil him:angel: But I am sure he will do great because he is incredibly smart.

Good Luck to Bailey... and Mom (it sounds like its going to be harder on you than him :) ) in "puppy boot camp"

You’re lucky to have found a good trainer! We were going to take Roxy to the Pet Smart classes but the closest one is over a hour away... we lucked up though, the Vet Tech at Roxy's Vet is a trainer/behaviorist and comes with outstanding recommendations, it will be mostly one on one with Roxy and she will be "socializing" with the trainers Doberman Pincher puppies  (those doggies intimidate me) and since Roxy is just going to be a member of our family (no hunting or showing) she really needs doggie manors!

Most definitely harder on me than him. Becaus he already has the face down pat ( But mom, I really didn't mean it):)

But I am in training at home. My husband keeps telling me I have to be firmer to earn the dogs respect and he will have better manners. So off to school we go.

We have vacationed in North Carolina (Oak Island/ Long Beach) and we love it there. Your lucky with your vet tech being so qualified. That way you don't have a long drive. Bailey hasn't got used to driving in the car yet - he likes to bark alot.

we start classes with Jackson next Tuesday night. It sounds like boot camp is a bargain at 10wks for $150. We get 6wks for $150. Classes are being held at our local vet complex (I say complex because this place has everything!)

The thing I think I will enjoy about this class is that for part of the class everyone switches pups. That way your pup learns to take commands from different people, rather than just you.

Jackson is doing very well with basic obedience as taught by us, but it will be great to have a professional to help out and tell us what we're doing wrong, as well as what we are doing right!
