How often and when should I feed my new pup, or should I just leave the bowl out and let him graze???

Young pups do best on three meals a day, cutting back to two at six months or so. Do not let him graze.

Grazing, or free feeding may work with some dogs, but I would never try it with a Lab pup. Start with 3 meals a day, cutting back to 2 at 3 months and one at 6 months. actually my Tux came to us at 9 weeks eating 2 meals a day.

Congrats on your new pup!
I am a firm believer of feeding on a schedule and not leaving bowl down throughout the day.
I feed in the morning ( breakfast) and at supper time.
When Raja was younger I fed at noon also.

Feeding this way will help with housebreaking- as eating on a schedule naturally creates pooping regularity. Free grazing can lead to irregular bowel movements and over eating...
