View Full Version : Rachael Ray dogfood
maryluvsemma 11-29-2008, 01:15 PM Hey, I really can't stand RR...but I saw on tv today that she has come out with a dog food - supposed to be healthy...and the profits will go to help organizations that aid animals. Can't remember the name of it...thought that was mildly interesting.
Tricia's petz 11-29-2008, 01:37 PM The ingredients don't look so great.

ImWithThePyr 11-29-2008, 03:41 PM I agree with Tricia... it's nothing to write home about. She supposedly worked with top notch canine nutrition specialists... but I HIGHLY doubt that.
It's got soy, corn, salt, beet pulp... all kinds of yuckies :(
g'smom 11-30-2008, 06:12 AM I like that the profits go to helping animals but I just can't feed it to my dogs due to the soymeal. If they take that out I may try it.
Adding: my dogs do very well on corn and G needs beet pulp in her food.
Makwa's 11-30-2008, 06:39 AM Looks like the ingredient list for about 95% of the commercial do foods on the market., so it cant be all that bad. I will never switch from my locally made kibble but I think its cool that profits go to animal rescues groups. There is an article about it in this months Dog Fancy.
ImWithThePyr 11-30-2008, 09:41 AM I like Rachel Ray... I just think she should stick to people food. Did anyone see the episode of her show where she was making dog treats? She included ONIONS in the mix... thankfully, a lot of complaints were sent in and she said something about it on another show... and they no longer air the dog treat making show.
MollysMama21774 12-08-2008, 09:40 PM Well I'll be the first person here to say it....LOL......I cannot STAND Rachael Ray so I will certainly NOT be buying this food. Plus the ingredients don't look too impressive. I'll be sticking with my CN for my guys.
LabLoverNMiami 12-09-2008, 08:45 AM :nono:I also am not impressed with the ingredient list. The dog whisperer has a food out now too but I really think Rachel Ray should stick with people food. What's next Emerils BAM chow? How about Paula Deens Southern Stew? hee hee:grin:
Patty/Breeder 12-09-2008, 09:54 AM I don't like RR either. There is just something about her that bugs the crap out of me.
I agree, she should stick to people food.

Too true..."mmmK guys it's time for some EVOO"...now let me go to the fridge and carry 500 million things at once so I can cook this meal in 30 mins"
*click* on to Sponge Bob or anything else entertaining.
Patty/Breeder 12-09-2008, 02:20 PM I think the 30 min. thing is part of what bugs me. She makes a total mess in the kitchen because she is in such rush.
I have been researching dog food for over 14 years and would love to manufacture a quality food but I have no clue how to do it - I wonder how many dogs RR has owned in her life and what she fed them.
For that matter what the heck does Dick Van Patton know about dog food? Its all about having the money to pay others to do the work - research, etc. and than putting your name on it.
I don't have that kind of money.....................................:-(

She has had at least 2 AST that she has cooked for.
